I have been using broadband service for over a decade. Starting with 256kb plan provided by MTNL in 2006 and now getting 100mbps speed at the same cost. I have tried various ISPs in my search for the perfect ISP.
MTNL lost the race when they didnt improve the speed. and not update the plans. Not that they had a great uptime either but they were the only who were within my budget.
Then it was Airtel, they provide good uptime but their connection speed was stuck at 8mbps while others started offering 50mbps and above at the same rate. Now they do provide higher speeds but with FUP so data is expensive. I would end up paying ~2500Rs/ month for 500gb data.
So I tried SITI broadband, they were providing 50mbps for about 900Rs/month (no FUP) but their network had a 50% downtime and a terrible customer service. Its been 9 months since I stopped renewing their plan but they still haven’t collected the modem (they didn’t charge for it at installation). So no one wonder the company is failing.
Next was DEN broadband. Their sales guy came and checked whether the connection was viable, took the payment and the document. Given that it was reputable company, I went for their 6 months plan for about 4500Rs. Speed 50 mbps and unlimited data. 3 days went by and no one came to install. Later I was told that the area is not feasible. The house 10 feet away is but mine isnt. I had to write them over 5 emails and call them at least 10 times to get my refund and even then they took 2 months to process it.
Finally I ended up going for this new company Excitel. Initially I went for their 50mbps monthly plan for Rs800/month (NO FUP). Surprisingly their speed would maintain the constant speed of 50mbps. With other providers, it keeps on varying between 30-50mbps. But with excitel it would retain that 50mbps speed and even the upload is 50mbps. Also the latency was under 10ms to their servers which is great. They also had some downtime like 2-3 days in a month. But they had such good speed and it was great value for money that I didn’t want to switch. Also I didn’t have any other options available (Nextra, Spectra aren’t available in my area). So I wrote an email to the Nodal officer and he got the infrastructure fixed in next 2-3 days. After that my downtime has decreased to less than 4%. Also they have 24 hrs customer service. And just last month I went for their 12 months plan in which they provide 50mbps speed for Rs560/month. The service is so good that I have decided to upgrade to the 100mbps plan. And the best thing is that they are available in almost all the localities in Delhi.

P.S. : I do have Hathaway as well. They provide 50mbps unlimited at Rs900 per month. Their latency is a bit high but I use it as my backup connection.

I have been using internet since 2005 or something. started with mtnl dial up, then siti 128kbps, switched multiple from mtnl broadband to airtel then again mtnl (airtel kept on increasing their plans), in between used reliance communication wireless through some dish tv type antenna on roof. 2 yrs back switched to DEN but there was some issue of speed and then excitel came which gave good plans. using excitel since an year on 695+tax plan which is presently 50 mbps no capping. Yes, they do have occasional downtime but still its okay. In case of downtime, I do have those 1gb per day plans on mobile phone so occasional downtime doesn’t bother me much when it works for 29 + days a month.

PS: I am from West Delhi, near peera garhi.

Yes i too have tried excitel in east delhi. But they were facing downtime of 55 % in my area. Many times i called their local service provider in dilshad garden but they dont come to check problems before 2-3 days. Once i lost excitel connectivity again and called the local service provider they said they will take care of problem but nothing happened so i called again they did not pick phone next time and many times after that . So i have to switch to airtel broadband as when i called their customer service they said we can not do anything only local service provider can do. Local service provider of my area dilshad garden being totally irresponsible i had to make shift to airtel. So i ca not trust excitel and advise others to stay away from this.

Excitel is cheap because their broadband doesn’t work most of the time.

Excitel Broadband doesn’t provide high speed once you pay them for the prepaid connection. You will regret taking the connection.

I live in Delhi and I regret wasting my money on Excitel.

I paid for 3 months plan in advance. I am getting 8–9 Mbps speed on a 50 Mbps plan for more than 3 weeks. Also, frequent disconnection problem is there.

The problem is not resolved. Nobody listens to the complaint – LCO, customer care, Nodal and Appellate officer.

I call them daily and daily some new executive gives me a deadline of 48 hours. It’s so frustrating.
