Hi Guys..
I am going to take either one of CITI Rewards or CITI Indian Oil Credit Card
Which card should i opt for to maximize benefits
( I know CITI dont give much online offers , nor the reward rates are great but just in case)
My brother already hold CITI Indian Oil Card with spend based waiver

What’s the expenditure based on ? I mean to ask, for what purpose are you planning to use it for ?
Guessing by your post, I believe it’s just for bank specific offers on eCommerce sites, in which case, it doesn’t matter;
However I would suggest to go for IndianOil one, since you might have other cards which you can use for departmental/apparels (Citi Rewards works on these only, also most of us mostly do online shopping for these categories, in which case you can use Apay and other cards); Citi Oil one has better benefit in the petrol section expenses.

Now coming to the main point; Citi ka card milna bahut mushkil hai Bhai, give it a shot, but if you already have 3-4 cards, then you need all the luck laughing

No such planning… Just taking it for now… as getting for free..
Mainly for any occasional offer that CITI releases…
some guys even told that CITI send some user specific SMS and email
for transaction based Gift vouchers or CB..
Since brother already hold IOCL card I once thought to opt for Rewards cards…
Will wait for Inputs from other Dimers..
Salary Account Chipka raha hu bhai… Complementary LTF card de rahe hai…
Will see how it goes.. Else will close the account… stuck_out_tongue

Citi rewards for grocery and department store
Citi Indian Oil for fuel.
Depending on your usage.
But I think if your brother already has a citi card, then no need for another one.

Is the reward rate better than 1.5% for CITI reward or CITI IOCL CC..
as my Indusind Amex will give flat 1.5% reward for any kind of spend on weekdays
and 2% on weekends

You’re still in processes of taking wink I thought you already took 10+ cards smile

To your current question. If you want fuel go for IOCL card. I use it and its one of best cards
If you want cash against rewards go for Rewards card. I had Citi Rewards card and now switched to Citi Indian oil.

some guys even told that CITI send some user-specific SMS and email
for transaction-based Gift vouchers or CB.

In my 6+years citi usage it never sent GVs. No user-specific offers in citi at least for Suvidha holders. HDFC is great in User-specific/Spend based offers

I had Citi IndianOil LTF card years back. Since it was LTF, and Citi never gave any offers those days, I did not use it. Couple of years back I got a letter that Citi is closing my card because of non usage laughing

5 yrs ago i switched from citi reward to citi indian oil cc….main reason…citi io cc has 1 reward pt = 1 rs fueld….citi reward cc has 1 pt = 35 paise afaik

minimum 30k trxn in yr for fee waiver

now i took amazon icici cc…as it gives 1% minimum reward pts…n 1 pt is 1 rs apay balance ..in citi if u spend 15k then d reward pt can be arnd 100 only also….it varies with number of trxn..like if 250trx is done den we get 1 pt i guess of 300 then 2 …so it has to be in multiples of 100 or 150..per trxn…but in amazon cc its flat

am open to refer u for d card stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes

i applied for citi rewards card via amazon recently
1.taking this specially for d-mart purchases(hope it’s departmental store).thought 2.8% is good.and i can buy amazon voucher with those points
but one of the dimers said in another thread,
2.for citi rewards,1rp=35 paisa, but for amazon voucher it’s 15 paisa only.is it true?then it’s not 2.8%,less benefit, right? if it’s 1.2% then better i apply for amex smartearn(still need to know more details about this card)
3.cap around 500 rp.
4.10 k points required,for statement credit
5.any charges to buy amazon voucher?
correct me,if i am wrong?
