If you have citibank reward credit card then Can you switch it to another type – Citibank cashback credit card without losing earned reward points?

What is ratio of reward points to cash if you want to convert it into another type. Does anyone have any idea about this?

@Digitalguy
me too searched a lot to know this.
citi rewards card is for apparel and departmental stores. right
d-mart comes under which category? departmental store or grocery?
one of the dimers said that he/she got 10* rewards and another said no.

edit:
another dimer suggested amex smartearn,
and one of the dimers said amex acceptance is difficult

still didn’t find a cr card,which gives decent cash back, for d-mart shopping

You are right. Citi rewards card is for apparel and departmental stores. As per Customer care, Identification of apparel and department stores are based on MCCs (Merchant Category Codes) allotted by Mastercard & Visa. Dmart are not falls under this category. So I dont get 10X reward points. It is confirmed by Customer care.

@complicate_simplify You can try following cc:
1. SBI SimplySAVE – 10X RPs for spends on Dining, Movies, Grocery and Departmental Stores
2. Manhattan Platinum – Get 5% cashback on grocery

Yes by calling customer care you can change to any variant instantly. I changed cashback cc to cashback rewards card and also they gave it LTF. You won’t lose rewards points it takes 3 days to reflect.

@Digitalguy
thank you.already i read about so many cards,but so many cards annual spends, above 100k,
i need a card,with annual spends below 50k.
that’s why choosed those 2,which i mentioned earlier.
and you said citi rewards is not useful for d-mart.now amex smartearn left

edit:
for you or anyone,who is looking for a card,for grocery/supermarkets or departmental stores.

1.AMex MRCC gives 3.5+% on anything
2.SBI tata titatnium 3% on grocery and dept.
3.sbi simplysave 2.5% but has some term and condition changes recently check it before applying

Also consider
1.for bigbasket , dbs bigbasket debit card gives 10%
2. For amazon fresh , simplyclick will give 7.75% (sbi saving a/c needed)
3.grofer normally comes with payzapp/visa offer

Also try comparing price of items on diff sites and after discount
You may check further on standerd charter and rbl

Also add the price and time of physical visiting the store , i am happy with bugbasket deleivering utems to door step saving my time and petrol , dmart is not here in delhi

For SBI tata titatnium card, Redemption optins are very limited. E.g. Star bazaar, Croma etc. Tata stores

@demerius2020
thank you.these cards annual spends are 100k and above,that’s my prob(need a card with below/around 50k)

recently i read in another thread,dbs also changed some rules,i think some minimum balance maintenance or some thing…correct me,if i’m wrong
for big basket/grofers,i prefer amazon pay balance,i think you already know that trick(so no separate bank account or dc required until this trick works)

amazon pantry or fresh increased prices of the products recently, without combining coupons, i think we can’t save much.
(mine is 5+ yrs old account)may be they are focusing on new customers, not giving good coupons to old customers & prime members

now i started checking flipkart supermart, prices are reasonable, with bank discount, grocery pass, 1/- 19/- deals & buy more save more, we can save upto 30%(i don’t have phone pe,heard some coupons available there also.so combining this, savings upto 40%)
but so many dimers said without any reason, flipkart is blocking accounts, that’s why i am thinking to place a order there.

I too order more now via flip kart grocery now coz of the deals and the fact that usually you get more deals on flip kart gift cards than amazon. So one can stock up then for more value.

Also, what’s the deal/trick on bb via amazon. Please do tell.

@kurk
it’s not a big secrect, buy big basket e voucher with amazon pay balance(i think here so many dimers already know how and where and when to buy amazon vouchers)
and i have bb star membership too
and amazon will not block accounts like flipkart,so i prefer amazon always
but when they increased prices recently in pantry/fresh and stopped combining most of the coupons….
started checking other websites, found flipkart supermart is also good,when we combine offers smile

may be you need to order from SBI YONO and you’ll get 5% cb from YONO app
5% from YONO, 2.5% from SBI SimplyCLick. not sure about the extra 0.25% from where.
