Close BOI debit card

I have received 2nd BOI debit card (Rupay platinum) and now I want to close my 1st debit card to stop paying annual maintenance charges.

Can I close it online or need to visit bank?

Call tollfree and hotlist/block it. Be sure of last 4 digits of card.

Cannot say anything about BOI online - too much messed up PSU bank.

Your old debit card will auto block, after first time use your new debit card

check BOI net banking site, you will see only one active debit card.

No, a hotlist kills it permanently. No further charges unless you order a replacement of the same.

Bank won't auto close your debit card until the card reaches the Expiry date/violates some internal policies. It's your responsibility to close any card.
