It would also be worthy mentioning some common medicines like:
1. Colicaid: for stomach upset or gastric
2. Ultra D3 800IU/ml: for vitamin D
3. Raricap: for Iron supplements
4. A-z Multivitamin Drops
5. New borns are also prone to cold and I had to bear the pain of giving my daughter nebulization at regular intervals.
(Hyperneb and Budesal repsules)
Most doctors recommend these but better to go for prescribed ones.

Nice of you to post a mini blog with general pointers @hese🙂 .Appreciated.

Hope you, others also touch upon the psychological aspects too.
Both from the perspective of the kid/s and oneself.

It is especially stressful if one is not used to or unwilling to take the barrage of advice, tips and even outright instructions, when one has become a first time parent.

While it becomes more challenging in its own way, at times, when one has existing kids, other responsibilities and also a new baby arrives.

One thing is for sure. Even the best supercomputer would implores at the flood of contradictory instructions and advice received.
(Most of it, unsolicited. And this topic, comments here from others, me.. too prove the point).

Have always seen the, desi massage versus no oil massage for babies debate happening everywhere around us, at-least in South Asia.

But the most cherished part of having to cater to new born, toddlers are those 'micro nsps' which one steals at the drop of a hat.
Sometimes even a 8-10 minute nap, while commuting to the market or in between chores... really makes up for the missed sleep at nights.

Dimers, please restrain from putting names of the Brands of Medicines in your comments. Otherwise, the given checklists and information shared are too good and very helpful.

Having raised my kid for 2 years now, here are a few tips from my end.

1. Avoid sugars as much as possible. Especially, sugar loaded stuff such as chocolates, candies and what not. Sugars are bad for everyone, not just kids, it's inevitable once these little ones start going to school and watch other kids eat them but try to avoid until then.

2. Never be submissive to their tantrums. Yes, you feel like pampering them but at the same time it's your duty to teach them that bad is bad and no means no. Take them close calmly and pacify them to calm their tantrums. This will take a while, some kids try throwing tantrums for 30 mins to 1 hour as well but stay patient and stay calm.

3. Avoid gadgets at any cost. It begins by you changing first. Once you realise your kid is getting attracted to screens when you use your phone/tablet/laptop, stop using them in front of them. If possible, make your bedroom a no phone zone until the kid grows up. Engage your kid with toys and activities that aid better development. I tried my best over the last two years and mostly succeeded. My kid never gets stubborn that he wants our phone to play with as of now. All he cries for is to either play with him or take him out for a walk on the road.

4. Try to avoid crib and let your kid sleep by your side. Instead of getting a crib when he was young, we got bed rails for all sides of our cot. This ensured he wouldn't fall off the bed when he rolls. This has been a saviour for us. He used to just love running around and playing on the bed once he started crawling and eventually walking. Once he was around 15 months old, we stopped using the bed rails and got him used to using the bed without it as it was soon getting difficult to manage him at places where there are no bed rails, places such as hotels when we travel and when he goes to my in-laws place.

5. Let the kid start to eat by himself as early as possible. Yes, he/she will make a mess of things until they learn but we have to be patient to clean it all up. That's the only way to let them learn.

Last, but not the least, teach them by doing and not by saying. Kids are very quick learners, you would be amazed to see them learn things. Their little brains are like clean slates and they learn everything, good or bad. Ensure you do the right things and they will look at you and learn the right things from you. You can't teach a little one by just telling them what to do, instead, you do it and they learn from you.

I've seen parents giving mobile to 1 yr kid so that they can enjoy dinner in peace. and kid is scrolling YouTube shorts with his extra small fingers and his eyes are bombarded with all the screen lighting.

Avoid unnecessary medicine  vitamins   unless and until  much  needed due to some health reasons .

Jaiphal  for stomach , sauf ka pani  fennel  seed water  ,  ajwain , coconut  , gond  dink , pure  home made ghee , jeera  cummin , methi , sesame , sunlight , good oil massage , cleanliness   etc  can be used for general  wellbeing  and vitamins  and energy and good lactation .

Vitamin tablets  are  harmful in long run  and  devoid  our body to produce collect  on its  own .

Please avoid  giving child any vitamin supplement  even if doctor says as it is becoming norm nowadays by  pharma  companies for sales ,
