What if there was no data on the ssd to begin with? I just started using an ssd i bought in 2013 which i completely forgot about . Wasn’t powered for 6 years. Seems to be working fine as a boot drive. Its a top grade ssd though. @DaBomb @ G-Gowda @enapster
Brand ?
I can relate , even i don’t power my laptop with ssd for 2 or 3 months
It works fine.
Actually, There was some little data which i could still use when i powered it for the first time this year
You are calling me a kid! WOW!!!
Yes buddy, I agree with you! Data centers are discarding flash drives moving back to hard drives. They are even throwing away their new servers and bringing back their old discarded ones. No argument there! 100% agree – you are right.
I feel you and extend my support in times like these.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_data_c...rs
Google Data Centers are the large data center facilities Google uses to provide their services, which combine large amounts of digital storage (mainly hard drives and solid-state drives), compute nodes organized in aisles of racks, internal and external networking, environmental controls (mainly cooling and dehumidification), and operations software (especially as concerns load balancing and fault tolerance).
Google uses DRAMs and HDDs on a large scale for their servers.
SSDs as you know, the cheap ones, are not used as much as you believe they are in their data centers.
They would go into deep red with these SSD replacement costs.
