Confirmtkt - Tatkal refund / Cancellation charges query

Today i come across this website/app thru my friend.
He asked me a query regarding refund of Ticket fare for tatkal tickets, i said we wont get any refund for cancelling tatkal tickets.
He showed me the app, in the booking screen it showed one addl charges as ‘Zero cancellation charges’ and amount 82. Upon reading terms, they mentioned that if we cancel the tatkal tickets also before 4 hours, we will get full refund of the ticket fare.
Is it true??
We have not booked that Ticket. Just wanted to check if anybody tried it and how this works.
Really they are refunding, or they have addl hidden t&c which we dint notice….

i don’t think this policy will work for confirmed tatkal ticket.
as per irctc – No refund will be granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets. For contingent cancellation and waitlisted Tatkal ticket cancellations, charges will be deducted as per existing Railway rules.

Approx refund is calculated considering someone cancels the ticket between 12 hours to 4 hours or Chart prepared time(which ever is earlier) before the scheduled departure of the train.
The refund amount will be equal to the final base fare that is paid.
Sample Case if free cancellation opted on ConfirmTkt
1. Ticket Price: Rs. 1000, departure Time of the train from departure station : 20th May 2020 6:00pm
2. Ticket Cancellation before 2pm 20th May 2020 or Chart preparation(which ever is earlier) : User Refund = Rs. 1000
3. Ticket Cancellation after 2pm 20th May 2020 or after Chart preparation :
User Refund(if waitlist) = Rs. 1000
User Refund(confirmed ticket) = Rs. 0
Chart can be prepared from 4 hours to up to 12 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
Free cancellation fee may change if the fare/ticket status changes before you navigate to the payment page.
ConfirmTkt will not be liable to pay any other cost incurred by the user apart from the ticket base fare on opting for ConfirmTkt free cancellation.

They are charging you extra on booking, it’s like insurance. They will pay if you cancel. They are earning from the extra amount they are charging i.e 84 plus agent service charge as well.

Extremely unhappy with the way ConfirmTKT is dealing with the REFUND of ours. If any other portal can give refund in 1 to 3 days then why are you showing 15 to 17 days.Please note I want immediate refund of Rs 3966.00 .Whats is this. Can anybody talk to me immediately at 9051843576/8420736111 before I escalate it concerned ministries & nearest Police station. You have no courtesy even to respond back with written confirmation to a customer & customer has no access to reach you either through Toll Free number or email. Hope you are not doing FRAUD.We have booked ticket from Varanasi to HWH on 30th Decemeber 2022 . Three tickets of AC 3 tier. Can I request to share your MDs email details.
