Nothing is contactless in India. The cashier/waiter takes the card from the customer and then personally taps the card. How is it contactless then?
Also, security of the transaction is not there since no pin entry is required. Hypothetically if you lose your card and it falls in the wrong hands then that person can use the card to buy things for Rs 5000 without any need for pin. 5000 is not a small amount.
