Convert ICICI Bank salary (now savings) account to zero balance account

Hi Guys,
I am asking for my brother. He has a salary account in ICICI Bank. But now his company had changed salary account from ICICI Bank to HDFC Bank.
After 3 months his zero balance ICICI Bank salary account will become normal savings account with required MAB.
Is there any way to convert his savings to zero balance? He doesn't want to close the account.

I had salary account till 2014 with ICICI and then changed company and bank too.
Since then there are many occasions where less than 500 rupees was there in account for weeks together as I hardly use this account. But not once ICICI have put any penalty or fine.
May be as @UniqueDimer pointed out, they will change account type to Zero without informing customers.
its 0 balance even after 6 yrs so leave it as it is
Transfer some amount at Month End/Start for a safer side.
ICICI generally don't convert Salary to Savings Account till you go to branch for some help and they find out.
keep 10k and they will continue it as salary acc
if not they will convert it into normal one
there is no zero bal acc in icici
There's this Mine Account, which is a zero balance Savings account in ICICI Bank.
BTW, if the OP or his brother has to keep 10K in the account, then why would he waste time here seeking info from others?

First check with the Bank, whether the existing salary account was given as Life Time Zero Balance Account? Then ask them directly whether it'll be converted to regular savings savings account with MAB or as Zero Balance Savings Account? Then proceed as per the given info.
For me, they said it'll stay as Life Time Zero Balance Account, even if we change the job or salary not credited. So, after leaving the job, the account was converted to Zero Balance Savings Account by the bank automatically with free Debit Card too. In fact, I was never informed too when it was converted from Salary to Savings.
