We are inaugrating 170 kmph+ vande bharat express / bullet ... and this .
Derailment followed by collision with a stationary. Very unfortunate.
Ex-gratia compensation to the victims of this unfortunate train accident in Odisha;
₹10 Lakh in case of death,
₹2 Lakh towards grievous and ₹50,000 for minor injuries.

I am around 10 kms where the accident took place ! Lots of people have
died , the no. is much more than reported by media but local people ,
ndrf , odrf have also joined rescue teams escorting roads , providing
vehicles to hospital , there's a hill of dead bodies in the fields ,
never seen such a disaster of accident ! Om shanti !

Seriously how many people boarding the train in unreserved coaches 
most of the people who were in unreserved coaches lost their valuable lives. We are concentrating on Vande Bharat trains, which most of our population cannot afford in it. Indian Railways priorities 
All trains will not be converted to vande Bharat. New trains are added so more passengers can travel. And more capacity is added. The other trains will continue as they were.
What is time difference between derail and the collision of the other train?

No train should run without KAVACH all new train inaugurations should be stopped untill KAVACH anti collision system is installed in all Indian trains, we have this technology since a decade but Rail ministery is least bothered about passenger' s safety, Think about vande Bharat if such collision happens trains beauty and speed will not save passengers

I have a lot to say about the shitty operation of railways. Now is not the day. No amount of blame volleying would bring the dead back.
I only hope they do a honest internal enquiry and learn how to avoid such tragic incident from happening again.
Not sure if everyone understands the train operation, but here is what happened in a brief video. The train was at 128kmph and was supposed to skip station from main line but due to switch fault it entered on loop line which was occupied by freight train. So unfortunate that another train was crossing at the same time and due to which the derailment caused maximum casualties
The place is approx 20kms from my place. The scene there is beyond imagination. You won't sleep/eat for next few days if you see in reality. Tragic.
Also death toll is farrr more than what is reported.

Several people are feared injured as 12841 Coromandel Express from Shalimar to Chennai derailed at Bahanaga station in Balasore district of Odisha. Around 200 passengers are trapped in the overturned coaches of the superfast train. Quoting preliminary reports, a railway official said that the Coromandel train was moving on the mainline. After derailment it hit a goods train standing on the loop line. The Express train is believed to have hit Yashwantpur-Howrah Express from behind.
