Coromandel Express derails

Several people are feared injured as 12841 Coromandel Express from Shalimar to Chennai derailed at Bahanaga station in Balasore district of Odisha. Around 200 passengers are trapped in the overturned coaches of the superfast train. Quoting preliminary reports, a railway official said that the Coromandel train was moving on the mainline. After derailment it hit a goods train standing on the loop line. The Express train is believed to have hit Yashwantpur-Howrah Express from behind.

Insurance is by default ON naa ? i heard they switched off after people complained about additional 1 rs etc .

There is also insurance offered by banks via debit cards so make use of it in case anyone is died today

Derailment followed by collision with a stationary. Very unfortunate. 

Minimum 50L ex gratia should be for deceased and free treatment for injured passengers.

Ex-gratia compensation to the victims of this unfortunate train accident in Odisha;

₹10 Lakh in case of death,

₹2 Lakh towards grievous and ₹50,000 for minor injuries.

-At around 7pm, 10-12 coaches of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express derailed near Balasore

-Derailed coaches fell on opposite track

-Another train from Yeswanthpur to Howrah dashed into those derailed coaches

70+ dead , figures might rise

I am around 10 kms where the accident took place ! Lots of people have
died , the no. is much more than reported by media but local people ,
ndrf , odrf have also joined rescue teams escorting roads , providing
vehicles to hospital , there's a hill of dead bodies in the fields ,
never seen such a disaster of accident ! Om shanti !

Freak accidents happen. Baleshwar is just 200 km away from my place. My maternal uncles stay there. Rescue operation is going on all night

Seriously how many people boarding the train in unreserved coaches most of the people who were in unreserved coaches lost their valuable lives. We are concentrating on Vande Bharat trains, which most of our population cannot afford in it. Indian Railways priorities
