Those of you who are in Noida / Bangalore, what are your views? Assuming the Noida man had this thing since 20th Feb, he would have gone to a lot of crowded places in last 10 days and since incubation period is 15 days, we may not know who all locally caught this in last 10 days !

And i personally believe that India is not testing rigorously yet. These are 2 recent news items :
1) Bhutan’s first case of coronavirus is an American tourist. He left Washington, D.C. on February 18 and toured India with his partner before going to Bhutan.
2) A male, with recent travel history to India confirmed with coronavirus in Santa Clara County,US
It is somewhat possible that they were infected in India. And even if they were not infected in India, they would have spread the infection in India. In any case, situation is going to get worse soon. I hope a solution is found before then

It’s true…infact Americans aren’t yet (not literally) capable of testing well (CDC recently recalled all their test kits as they were giving false positives)… although they are expecting to have large number of testing kits ready by next week..
In India things are way scarier since our authorities aren’t able to convince fully before testing finally in PUNE!
The day before yesterday there was a report that 23 people tested positive in Delhi testing facility but authorities weren’t sure and hence they sent to PUNE for final confirmation. I didn’t receive any news about them yet!

So just as a normal people, what we are supposed to do, what precautions are we supposed to take, especially us the daily commuters of public transport? N95 masks any good? Should we wear gloves outside? What?

Coronavirus and other flu viruses spread when respiratory droplets are inhaled into lungs.
I don’t know much, But these are the precautions that i am taking/ going to take :
- Not touching my mouth, nose and eyes with my hand when i am outside. It is easier said than done. Most of us will subconsciously touch our mouth or nose. I think using a mask will help in this regard. I also believe N95 mask will be quite helpful
- Don’t shake hands.
- Washing hands thoroughly and cleaning phone with alcohol based cleaner.
- If i was in a metro city, i would take a hit on my purse and avoid metros and other public transport with air conditioners. Outside air is much better than circulated air.
- I will go on my personal car when going to a different city.
- I will consider using gloves if i am dealing in cash.
- I have heath insurance policies for all my family members. I believe government will treat coronavirus patients for free of cost, but we never know. If anyone of us needs ventilator support, then cost will be too much.
- I will get treatment for all my family members as quickly as possible, before situation worsens.
- Chinese users on reddit say that they change their clothes when entering the home.
Finally, this virus is believed to spread asymptomatically as well, which means that a person can spread the virus even if they are not showing any symptoms.

Yesterday a Kerala family faked their Italian travel history ran away, escaped from testing. Today another from Mangalore escaped from quarantine (hospital). I think we (Indians) have passed the point of no return. Coupled with the airport pic above. I am paranoid now.
I am seeing every leader donning a grim face. I think deep down they know. They know the truth of what is going to happen here…

I didn’t watch the whole video but he’s taking cases as number of suspects. That will grow for sure right now because all governments are doing better to find those cases and now they are taking more precaution. So if you cough too much in airport, you are a suspect.
Taking this into account, I do like the way he found the multiplying factor and it’s very reasonable to assume that if this goes on, the factor could be 3 or 4 in no time (and that’s what end of a city/country looks like)
But than again, still it’s not pandemic and can never be pandemic if every individual takes his/her necessary precautions.

Our media houses are not updating correct number of total cases in India. They are still quoting 50 and 60 cases. 61/62 cases were there till yesterday itself.
Meanwhile 2313 new cases and 196 new deaths in Italy
