Q: how to calculate the spends in a membership year on a credit card to waive off the annual fees?

Most credit cards comes with a waiver on annual fess if an xx amount is spent in a membership year.
However I would like to know what exactly do they define by a membership year.

Assume that am charged an annual fee in a credit card statement with the bill generated date as 15-Feb-2021.
The annual fee charged date as per this statement is on date say 20-Jan-2021.
Say, the due date of this bill is on 2-March-2021

From which date should I calculate my year spends so that the target is achieved and my fees will be reversed in next years statement(Feb-2022)?
Is it from the 15-Feb-2021? confused

Some banks define membership year based on the date card is issued. Some has fixed cycle..like say if November, they are going to reset everyone to that date/month based on their card issuance date. Better write to them and understand the same

In sbi card the annual fee is dated the same day as first bill is generated so no confusion, annual fee spend waiver is calculated for spend till 1 year from first bill generation date(in this case till 15 feb 2022).
