Credit Card for a Low salaried person -monthly income 20k?

start with FD based cards which are free and rewarding also..like BOB prime, ICICI platinum against instasave FD account….bob prime is very good…1% cashback on all transaction in form of reward points and Life time free also.

ohh ..did not read the non FD criteria…one thing if ur friend dont have savings..then dont fall for credit card…many dimers are there to help you during offers

Try SBI simply click lot of chances if itr is filed, it may be with low limit

Just went through the benefits of BoB cards. Really good cards offered by them, suits the kind of spends Dimers do usually. I am thinking to apply for one

Actually, my friend wants a credit card to meet his month’s end needs. I hope there is still a way available to grab 1 cc for him without opening fd.

If this is a Salary Account, where there is regular credit, he can take a shot and apply for a credit card, usually you would get it, but with mounting pending credit card debt, Banks are extremely cautious even with existing card owners and reducing their limits.

That said, here’s my advice, if someone is not able to make ends meet, they need to cut their expenditure/expenses NOT get a Credit Card.

Getting a Credit card with limited Finances is a huge mistake and will push the individual into a debt trap which keeps spiraling with huge interest rates.

Ask him o upgrade and apply for new jobs. Focus on increasing the salary rather than getting into debt.

The icici platinum card against FD is lifetime free too right? Also could you please tell me how to make an FD through icici online banking?

Nice to know about the Bob CC benefits but it’s difficult to consider a credit card from a piece of crap bank who can’t even maintain their mobile banking or internet banking services.

yes icici platinum card against FD is lifetime free…u can create through imobile..its pretty simple but dont forget to apply credit card while creating this FD….and about BOB…BOB card is one of the best card one should have..in 5-6 month only earner/saved more than 7k from this..and its free for me…i have almost all good cards like icici amazon, fk axis, etc

Hi, thanks for the reply bro. But hdfc refused to provide the credit card stating minimum 25k monthly salary criteria. That’s why i have created this thread to look for other alternatives.

His salary account is with IDBI bank and his company denied his request to shift the salary account to any other bank. They have some corporate tie up with IDBI bank only.

Shall I tell him to look for IDBI credit cards? Maybe they will give him one.

Yes IDBI also would be offering LTF cc to their salaried employees.
