According to the forecast, coastal Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy falls at isolated places from the evening of May 18, heavy to very heavy rain at a few places on May 19 and isolated heavy rainfall over northeast Odisha on May 20. Coastal districts of Gangetic West Bengal are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy falls at a few places on May 19, heavy to very heavy rain at a few places with extremely heavy rain at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal on May 20.

Ahead cyclone Amphan making landfall, the Odisha government has put 12 districts on alert as a precautionary measure after a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Friday.

But honestly I question people’s humanity. A part of India is being ravaged by a cyclone and people don’t give a damn about it. It is sad. It is not about hotness or something like that, it is just people are willing to close their eyes on some important issue. Then latter they will be like why Didi and Navin are not cooperating with center. Now you know the answer.
Keep em in your prayers guys. No need to press any imaginary button. Maybe a prayer from each of us might change a lot of thing.

Indian states WB, Odisa are being hit the hardest and many regions of Bangladesh. Scary visuals are coming from the affected parts even after the wind speed weakened! 😨
North East states including Assam are not that affected, just slightly strong winds sometimes and generally cloudy days/nights… unless it takes a different path.

I literally stood by the windows from 4 PM and experienced with my own eyes what was happening till 8.30 PM, when it finally stopped. We only had two tress ripped from root in our garden, and a brick pillar shattered which was supporting a few aluminium sheets but other than that no personal damage. However, what I experienced yesterday, I can’t put into any words. From childhood, I always longed to see a intensifying storm, because every cyclone came so far either always would go to Odisha or Bangladesh, Calcutta never got any real storm per se, after yesterday, I strongly wish never again a storm like this ever occurs, anywhere in India.

Whoever and however many people were affected by this storm, I hope you can recover from this as soon as possible.

Again, what I witnessed yesterday, was unbelievable, unthinkable. Good lord nature is powerful.
