Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is a service that may be offered by a Merchant or Acquirer that enables a Cardholder – when travelling abroad or making a transaction that is not in their billing currency – to choose whether their transaction should be completed in either the local currency or their billing currency.
List of Cards on which DCC will be charged:
- Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card - with effect from 5th March, 2023.
- IndusInd Credit Cards - w.e.f. 6th April, 2023.
- Sbi bpcl card
- Icici card
What's going on ?? Do banks and banko kaa baap (pappa) RBI want to punish us for using credit card. DCC charges .. even for local transaction if bank charges DCC by mistakes .. it's the customer who has to do follow up with customer care ...explain the issue to rep ..which in turn will post the issue to their backend team ( who never calls) as it's a refund case and post which you will get refund (upon successful reversal) in next cycle .. why system behaves in such a way which bring more pain to consumer under the sweet name of rules and regulation because some crackhead decides to implement DCC.
Thank god I don't have money to spend, else they will be charging DCC and gst on it.
Whoever is aware of the process of complaint, can create a forum or tweet, dimers will elevate that further.
This is by far the best comment of this section which actually gives you mental peace instead of running behind reward points and repayment dates .. In today's time this comment is more truthful and so touches the core of the heart ❤️❤️❤️ .. Kudos to you Xhaster ( i think M is missing somewhere .. correct me if I am wrong )
Looks like axis cc messed up in software configuration regarding dcc. They have to fix this and reverse these charges for sure.
By the way - only fk cc affected or other axis cc cards also facing this problem?
Axis escalation matrix:
1.

Or
2.
Looks like RBI website is down.
Hope this helps
Yes. just checked. I got DCC on mobikwik DTH recharge
Axis needs to reverse all these wrong DCC charges.
Logically DCC should be applicable only on those transactions, where one can see "Forex markup fees" in credit card statement. For that, one needs to first enable "Foreign / International usage" under Transactions control settings.
I would suggest everybody to "Disable all the International usage settings in their respective cards". One should get transaction declined message in this case, if the usage is for International currency while reflecting in INR at Indian portal.
Axis doesn't legally have any right to charge DCC over transactions happened while "International usage settings are disabled".
Though they can charge 1% over wallet top-up, by specifically stating in their terms conditions.
It seems Axis is getting confused between wallet load & normal purchases (without using wallet), as all the users facing problem at websites having wallet load option as well.
Axis needs to figure out a way to differentiate between the normal transactions over FK/ Myntra/ Ola / Mobikwik etc & transactions routed through these Apps' / sites' wallets!
Thankfully I stopped spending in flipkart using Flipkart axis card..using hdfc millenia.. after reading everything, soon I will close too
Mine is a offline transaction at a grocery store and still I got charged for DCC markup. 😄
So it's a bug nothing else. Someone screwed up the Logic and QA didn't test it properly
Will axis reverse or need to wait for lots of complaints file to axis with RBI for DCC category classification ? Till now only FK Axis card reported what others cards affected with same.
I closed Axis Ace. Kept FK Axis only for during sales. If this is how banks want to make money, will keep it, but wont use as its LTF. They can have lakhs of active cards with 0 usage.
For offline transaction of 100 rs, they deducted 111.8 rs
Yeh toh swipe machine mein swipe karne ki wajah se hai
I have applied for axis fp card considering buying monthly spends on Flipkart 10k above . Should I withdraw?
I doubt if RBI is going to do something as banks have started sending circulars of DCC....Its actually easy money (for bank and govt) so they would not withdraw..unless pressure mounts.. only question I have - How would I know proactively(before initiating the transaction) if it's going to attract DCC charges or not?? We can't keep on asking shopowner (or watch for any warning sign during online shopping) if swiping is going to attract DCC stuff as we don't know where the parent company(shop) might have been registered.
Why hurry?. 😂 wait for some days till dust settles . 😂 i think this dcc problem will be removed in coming days.
So all bank cards are changing this dcc on every transaction?
They even charging for flipkart transaction.
Maybe bcoz of this:
Flipkart Private Limited is an Indian e-commerce company, headquartered in Bengaluru, and incorporated in Singapore as a private limited company
Everyone should file complaint with bank, then with the ombudsman and then with RBI.
And also completely stop using Axis bank card and start posting in social media.
how are dmart or vishal mega mart or zomato ..foreign entities?
If international txn is switched off at the card level, bank should not process the txn even if its in Indian currency as long as the txn is identified as international txn.
Guys, lets find and add all the cards which charges DCC. Flipkart Axis Bank CC & IndusInd CC have been added. Others will be added as and when found.
Time to leave Axis….
Just waiting for cashback to hit my card for the month. And then I’ll close the card..
Flipkart Card charging Dcc on Flipkart it self..
Lol
Axis bank has gone crazy
As a result cashback percentage shall decrease
I need to order phone on Flipkart..
Using axis Flipkart card... Whether its marks DCC charges
Is this due to visa and matercard based in US, what about rupay i think no dcc for rupay??
So much effort in the name of digital economy! Lovely!
So basically, you pay by cash and you get penalised, example tolls and certain payments like credit card payments. You pay by neft you pay bank charges, example psu bank current accounts. You use your card to pay electricity bill more than 5k, pay convinience fees. You use your card to pay online shopping, DCC markup fee. But you get 100 rupees cashback to gamble online. Wow!
UPI is free bro
Comments pdh k lag rha hai badi धांधली chal rhi hai😂
I think it's high time we create a Twitter page powered by the desidime community to kick these giants on social media
Chill guys.
Keep international transactions OFF in your axis fk. Then if transaction doesn't fail, it means it is domestic transaction.
Once this bug is fixed, they will definitely refund the fees as they can't charge DCC for domestic transactions.
Still it got charge.. cc is saying that they will reverse this soon as this is due to technical.glitch
My Dunzo purchase has been charged 1% DCC with 18% GST
