This. And try using a recovery software like EaseUS(paid) or Recuva(free) if HDD is still working.
How much they will charge
4-5k onwards, but again depends on size of data, plus there is no guarantee. But they charge only on sucessful retrieval
Make a bootable usb of puppy linux and boot into it. Check if hdd is accessible. The error code according to google is for HDD failure, in which case it wont be accessible. If HDD failed it is going to cost you a lot for recovering data, probably not worth it unless it contains bussiness data or a bitcoin wallet key.
“Unfortunately, the most likely cause of the Dell ePSA error code 2000-0142 is a hard disk failure. If you hear your hard drive making strange noises (clicking, beeping, grinding) or failing to spin up, you’ll know for sure that your hard drive is dead.”

First try to try to take out the HDD and clean the SATA Connectors and try different sata cable.
•Does your HDD makes weird noises like clicking or high speed motor spinning?

If your HDD has failed there are ways to attempt to identify what inside the HDD failed. But not easy to find the compatible spare parts and someone skilled enough to fix and recover the data..
That’s why professional data recovery costs can go easily over lakhs.
Best way to safeguard is BACK-UP…. BACK-UP… BACK-UP
I learnt it hardway few years ago. And now usually I always take backup and even further backup every 1-2 months from my laptop. So only risk on 1-2 months data. It is time consuming, but atleast data is saved.
I tried mounting…. But hard drive name is shown as /dev/sda
When i tried mounting it is showing
/dev/sda doesn’t seem to have valid ntfs
In disks folder it is showing
Assessment Disk is ok, one attribute failed in past..
Messaged you in chat.. Pls check
@geni take a look at my posts here:

Is it the hard drive which failed or the system? If system failed but hard drive is fine then all it takes is a usb enclosure(good one available for around 500 on amazon) to take out the hard drive from laptop & put in usb enclosure & use it as external drive to copy data. If hard drive itself is failed then you need professional help which will cost money & might not even be worth it depending on the data you want to rescue.
