Dell laptop charger not connecting in laptop port

My Dell laptop charger is not connecting in the port in laptop. It used to be a problem, I had to twist and turn wire and keep it like that to charge, but even that is not working now. Any help on how to do it myself? The Dell guys are saying 3500 for repair.

It’s a hardware problem brother, might be faulty charger or faulty power port. Take it to a good local repair shop and get it repaired in front of you or they might take away other parts. Repair cost may vary depending on problem. If the laptop is costly one don’t hesitate to get it repaired by DELL. No other way.
Take it to repair centre before problem worsen & you end up paying even more. Also take out your hard disk(or at least delete all personal pics/pdf/docs/browsers history/saved password,for me too much hassle so I simply take image backup of C drive(takes ~30-40min for a 50gb C drive on external portable hdd) & then reinstall fresh windows which takes ~5-10min & after coming back from repairing centre restore the backup image(same ~30-40min to restore) to get it exactly in same condition as the time of taking image backup.
It indicate problem with continuity of wires. Just cut it and do self repair. Cost zero. Search on youtube/instructables if you are still clueless.
A bad advice,have you ever tried self repairing a dell charger cable with proprietary middle pin that reports original dell adapter to a dell laptop.
No charger works fine, i tried on friends laptop. Problem seems to be with the plugin point in the laptop. I guess will have to take to mechanic only
You can get the pin on aliexpress, good thing is you don’t have to do any solder
Only if willing to spend & wait for at least 5-6 weeks.Govt has recently tightened the rules for importing goods from sites like aliexpress.

Bhai mere friend ne bhi yahi kiyaa thaa aur problem worse ho gayee. Dell laptop charger cable is not like your usual cable aur local electric shop waale aisee small electronic items repair kar bhi nahi sakte with their standard equipment like normal soldering kit.
Bro, you take Dell service center’s help. Otherwise at least seek help of a local mechanic. Without schematics, how can we help you?
