I don't know the exact algorithm which determines group hotness

But , feels that , the mean hotness of the original group content , total deals covered, click-outs, subscribers is what determines hotness

Group  hotness depends on hotness of the deals  and number of deals added and how frequently  to the group.

When deals are added to group send broadcast  box is ticked by default and  thus notification  are sent to subscribers

@bumblefoot how to verify whether the subscriber are receiving the alerts(mail/sms/notification) , it seems (also confirmed by a subscriber) theh they are not receiving any alerts.

Can you check and confirm.
