XYZ: Hello sir/mam. We are calling from ABC with an exciting..
Me: Wait. Where did you get my number from?
XYZ: List/Data/Lottery/God/Police/Bank/We have your number
Me: Let me tell you that my number is part of the Do-not-disturb registry and I do not want to receive cold calls again from you. Do you know that it is illegal to cold call a DND registered number?
XYZ: But sir/mam..
Me: Let me finish. It is also my duty to inform you that our conversation is being recorded as evidence of unsolicited cold call
Normally they hang up after this. For those who don’t:
Me: ..with a time stamp. I request you to remove my number from your calling list. If I receive further cold calls from you or your colleagues in future, I’ll have to complain to TRAI with this recording as evidence. Once TRAI fines your company, it is a certainty that your company will fire you. These are tough times, please do not risk your job security by calling me again.
XYZ: Sir yes sir yes mam sorry. I will sell my mobile tonight and will not call anyone ever again

My number is DND registered. If you want to block SPAM calls, FULL DND is a must.
If it helps, take a print of of the script and read from that. After 2-3 calls you will memorise the routine. Block and report SPAM numbers.

@bftb i have already complained to TRAI before but usually operator closes it without taking any action. So not sure if the complaining to TRAI is effective or not.
It is effective, I have received follow up messages that action has been taken against the caller… Basically they cancel the number after many complaints…. So I make a point to receive the spam calls, disconnect them after few seconds and immediately raise a complain on the dnd app…..
one more thing – after opening my account with ICICI bank i started getting random messages like wa.ty/jasd878 such type of links and they say join and earn 500% more etc etc.
so it clearly shows banks also share our data .

@andromeda I am really wary of installing the DND app because of such low rating. Do you still recommend it?

Dnd app by trai on iOS is beautiful. Just click report message/call in sms/phone app and it opens a popup which fill everything on itself like date/content/number and you just click category and send.
I’ve suspended so many numbers cause it’s easy to report now.

M not getting human callers call…rather automatic ivr calls nd messages…tired of blocking n numbers from truecalleers and in my mobile..they have infinite numbers, everyday new number.
Even after activating dnd couldn’t help me much… Any solution to block such messages?
This is because your number has been circulated and is fair game to telemarketers.
But full DND – block – DND app complaint is a lethal combination.
Keep at it for 1-2 months, They will get the message you are not a sitting duck any more.
Life will get easier.
DND app doesn’t allow to view and report call logs anymore at least for me or all the reviews for the recent update.

After I deleted bankbazaar, paisabazaar and wishfin accounts, I have stopped getting any spam calls or sms.
Once in a week aata hai par pehle se bahut zyada kam ho gaya.
