Did anyone apply for a passport more recently? What documents were required?

I checked the website and for me it said only 3 type of documents are needed.
1. Address proof
2. Birth proof and
3. NonECR proof
When I checked the documents supported for them it said Aadhar works for address and birthproof. And for ECR I can show my degree certificate. Does this mean I carry only 2 documents?

One identity proof and one address proof is enough…i had my details mismatched in voter id and adhaar…so i gave voter id as identity proof since it was matching with 10th marksheet (address proof)
at the time of police verification chai paani might have to be given.how much?it is different from state to state.

for non ecr …they mentioned 10th certificate….but we lost it somehow……now any way to get non ecr status?
Go to the board and get a duplicate copy of 10th
Aadhaar and degree or +2 certificate is enough. I applied with these 2 only.
Only aadhar and mark certificate is enough.
If u have pan card, take that as well.
Don’t go with many documents and get in to trouble. ( If there is any mismatch in document detail it will lead into trouble).
Aadhar sud be in ur present address.
All documents u carry sud have exact same spelling in name, father name and same date of birth.
If all the above ok, then no issues.
Edit : card size aadhar not accepted (plastic card or laminated card).
They need full size aadhar which comes in post earlier or full size printout with digital signature verified Tick printed on it.

For the Op, and others who get motivated from this topic. If you are carrying aadhaar, ensure you carry the full page aadhaar, and if its e-aadhaar, ensure the green tick (sign validated) on the print.

For me they asked 200/- for verification, I told why to pay … This is your duty …. But police officer said if you won’t pay you don’t get passport and took my sign and in next 15 days received my Passport…. If your address is correct and all details , documents also ok and no cases on your name then also they ask you money 🤑 .. so varies from state to state….
Same thing happened to me 10 years back , the polimen in chowky was trying to create faults in the application this and that , i understood his intention, i said everything is perfect according to me with details and attachments , he starred at me annoyed and bluntly asked for karcha pani , i said what is that , again annoyed he angrily said passport chaiye toh 500 lagega , i said i wont pay a penny if you want pass it or reject it that’s your wish , i wont give hand in corruption , in next 15 days somewhat received passport by post 
One of my friend applied for passport recently and during verification at passport center they asked for aadhar, 10th marksheet and they were asking for additional documents such as driving license or latest bank passbook with recent statement. He only carried marksheet and aadhar so he have to reschedule his appointment for verification at center.
Note- you have to submit some money at your local police station and you can skip some part but money at police station is mandatory
Take the documents which you mention during the online registration process.
Make sure that the names (yours & your father’s), dob, address etc are all matching with no spelling mistakes..
I did had appointment yesterday only & I still couldn’t believe that it just took me 15-20 min only and process was so smooth today it even went for police verification.
For documents they took Aadhar Card (address proof), Pan Card (age proof) & 10th Mark-sheet (Non-Ecr Proof).
I was not asked for passport cover & sms service which I denied and I was not forced.
I did police verification yesterday with a bribe of 1500rs
I haven’t but I will say avoid these new things untill they get mature.
I recently applied for DL learning via online aadhar method now my application is stuck as RTO employees are rejecting it every time I re-upload documents giving useless reason like document not clear or not self attested etc they used to earn 500-600 easily for each of these applications.
But real question is why Aadhar needs to be re-uploaded manually & when we are applying and can verify the same via otp.
Today got call from my local police station he asked me to come to the police station with required documents.
As I was home and police station is very close to my place so I reached there with my docs he took them and after verifying everything started smiling which I knew was happening.
I took only ₹260-₹270 cash as I was sure that ₹250 is max I am gonna pay him no matter what.
I gave him ₹200 but he said what’s this and asked ₹500 at-least saying they usually take ₹1000 & kept asking more so I gave him another ₹50 and said that’s all I have now.
He was not impressed and said take back these too or I can come later to pay him but I kept pushing and don’t know how he had a change of mind and he even returned ₹50 and kept only ₹200.
So ₹200 is what I finally paid him and that ₹50 will be used to pay post-man now at delivery time. 😝
All these bargains took a very little time I guess they are avoiding coming home to save themselves from getting into troubles while taking money.
Update :
Received my passport today. I wasn’t home so my mom took the delivery and postman asked her ₹50 which she gave.
I applied on 17th Feb received passport on 5th March so it took around 17 days for whole process.
Case closed 😜

I don’t understand why you guys are bribing them and then we blame Govt for this. I don’t pay a single penny neither for Passport, NC or anything. It is not the matter of past, I went yesterday for PP enquiry of a family member and didn’t pay single penny.
Patience is the key which many of our fellow citizens lack.
One who pays bribe loses his right to question the corruption, because he is also a part of it.

Carry whatever documents you have, to ensure easy process
like aadhar, pan, electricity bill, 10th certificate etc. Just ensure no mismatch of details in documents.
