Agree…
As soon as u will activate your new card, old one will be expired. Make sure you get it activated before , your old one’s deactivation.
@mitu-ag though whatever it is you don’t need to block your old card, just activate your new card and use it, your old card will get auto deactivated by it own after a particular period (for icici it’s instant, don’t know about SBI)
Thank you for info… cant give karma again sorry
@mitu-ag SBI sent new debit card automatically ?
Even my SBI card is expired but I have not applied for new card because address in my SBI A/c and current address are different ..:-{
If they sent new debit card for me also then someone might have received that card at old address.
Yes they do, call customer support and ask whether they dispatched new one or not & if they dispatch you’ll get sms like this
Your State Bank Debit Card ending with 0000 dispatched to your address on 12-Nov vide Speedpost No ETxxxxxx300IN. For PIN contact your Branch 00000
Activate the new one and deactivate the old one, if you want to use both cards you can, you’ve to deactivate the old card manually from your end
In SBI we can have multiple debit cards….
The old DC will remain active even if u activate the new DC…
If u want to have only one DC active then u will need to block the Old DC….
Thank you for information
Karma given
Simple Steps
*1st activate your new card, confirm it by checking at ATm Point.
*Once the new card is activated, go online via net banking n choose your old to deactivate or via toll free number.
If both card are active you may be charged for both.
BTW whats your old card expiry date ?
My card expiry is jan 2017 for old card
Even if the old card is going to work …It is not of much use to u as you cant use it online or on a swipe machine. But it will work in ATMs for withdrawals, transfers etc. and you will be charged for both cards.
Deactivate the card by calling CC
I have activated my new DC while my old card is still active via internet banking but I can’t use the card for online payments yet .please tell me when and how can I make it active so that I can use the new DC for online payments
@mitu-ag For icici, your old card will get auto deactivated(instantly) after you do your first transaction through new card
Similar case will be for SBI also
