I remember when eCom first got traction in India, the likes of Flipkart would promise you delivery dates of 2 weeks away and then deliver it earlier than promised.
Now, the likes of Amazon and Flipkart tell you the exact date of delivery and they are right 99% of the time. Not earlier and not later.
Anyways, my old phone went bust and I needed a new phone urgently. Unlucky are those who have to make these purchases in urgency and not during big sales. So, I wanted the Xiaomi 14 and it needs SBI cc on Amazon which I don't have. So, I just had to get it from Croma.
On 10th August morning, I placed the order and the promised delivery day was 13th August. The same day in evening, the product showed "Shipped". I thought cool, I will probably get it in time.
Except, the shipped actually means the order has been booked for pickup.
On 11th August, the update showed "Pickup Employee Is Out To P/U Shipment". This is 1 day after the product was "shipped".
And, there has been no updates since then. There is absolutely 0 chance I get it tomorrow. And, I have no clue if the product is actually in transit or not. Customer service, as expected, parrots "You will get this tomorrow by 10pm, please be assured".
This is frustrating.
EDIT: Blue Dart is saying item was never handed over to them. Basically they would generate a waybill asap to pretend having shipped the product and also complicate cancellations. Shady
EDIT 2-- They are refusing cancellation as item is already marked shipped in their system.

Bro, delivery time is highly dependent on the seller's location and can be delayed by weather related issues. Having said that, they ought to fulfill their claims and refrain from making false promises.
I was told by Blue Dart support that Croma has not handed over the parcel to them yet.
And what does Croma say? Start grilling them on X.
UPDATE: They are now refusing to cancel as the order is already marked "Shipped" but in reality they have not shipped and only generated the Waybill. Terrible experience. AVOID at all costs.
