Newslaundry is an Indian media watchdog that provides media critique, reportage and satirical commentary. It was founded in 2012 by Abhinandan Sekhri, Madhu Trehan and Prashant Sareen, all of whom earlier worked in print or television journalism. It was India’s first subscription-driven website when launched, and since then other platforms have followed a similar model. In contrast to news websites such as The Wire, The Quint, ThePrint or Scroll.in, Newslaundry solely relies on public subscriptions, instead of advertisements, for revenue

Never Subscribe OPIndia & Newslaundry.. Both share propaganda in a extreme level.
Yes, please subscribe to Mann ki Baat only.
News Laundry is of poor quality. Their narratives are incomplete, abrupt.. with poor research.. lame timing and silly sarcasm IMO. Akash Banerjee / deshbhakt is better that way I feel.
Left or right, all online media is extreme.
Swarajya, NitinShukla etc are examples of other extreme of OpIndia & NewsLaundry.

I’ve been a consumer and Newslaundry and it’s funny to see people here label it as left wing propaganda. They obviously never read it’s content or only seen articles against their favorite political stooge.
Newslaundry is currently in a legal battle with Sakal Media Group (controlled by Sharad Pawar & family) regarding an article they published with regards Sakal violating government directives. TV Today (India Today, Aaj Tak) and Times Network (Times Now, ToI) have also filed defamation cases against them when Newslaundry held them to account.
Sure I don’t agree with some of their views wrt some matters but I respect them for not taking any funding/advertisements from any political party. Also the fact that they stand against legacy media who’s promotors socialize with the politicians, judiciary is a big plus for their commitment to independent journalism
Madhu Trehan actually carried forward her father’s legacy in journalism, by starting ‘India Today’
…till she relocated to the west, post marriage.
But returned later.. to venture out and eventually launched ‘Newstrack’
She belongs to the usual hoity-toity upper class, for whom
visiting and shopping at Harrods or Khan Market or other South Delhi places.. is second nature.
Newstrack used to be a video magazine. They sent actual VHS tape (video cassettes) to subscribers.
Those labelling them as one-sided (left leaning)
probably have not seen ☞☛such reporting☚☜ by Newstrack.
Newslaundry may have been an opportunistic digital off-shoot for her.
But for Ms. Madhu, it is just business.
Left propaganda media.
