it's not required after Windows 10 for normal pc users.
For Mobile phones, it was never of any use.
360
Not needed, especially on Android
Yup windows defender is enough, then u have sandbox and virustotal to use and scan suspicious files
Nope. Why buy when free Bindoz difendar is available. And those who use mobile aunty virus apps are kutiyas IMO🥰🥰
I bought a laptop in 2012 with i7 processor and 8gb RAM. around 2016 I had issue with laptop that it became very very slow and hangs all the time. I didn't have any games or any other huge memory hogging software either. So it was really disappointing to have the laptop in such a pathetic state with the mentioned configuration. I backed up all the data and tried a hard formatting. It was working well and then started to slow down rapidly after restoring data. I was considering selling the laptop off. Then one of my friend suggested me to try anti virus, i was skeptical about it and i even mocked him saying anti virus will just make the pc slower. Anyway I did decide to give it a try. I installed Bitdefender Internet security trial version . It immediately detected and removed some malwares . Which improved speed of pc considerably. Then i did a full pc scan that took almost a day to complete. It found few more malwares and that was it, my pc was working like a brand new one. I literally had tears thinking of all the annoying time i had to spend with the slow pc and all the time i had to spend trying to backup/recover data. Bitdefender managed to fix everything in a fraction of that time. I was soo happy that i decided to buy 3 years subscription Bitdefender Internet security for rs120/year. This was the first time i ever paid for any software .At the end of 3 year i upgraded to Bit defender total security and extended 3 more years for rs180/year. That laptop that i was considering to sell in 2016 still survives only because of my decision to buy anti virus.
Avtest is a popular website that tests various security softwares on a regular basis and according to their reports Windows defender has evolved to give same level of security and protection as that of paid antivirus softwares

Also, viruses these days spy on us more than they slow down the whole PC.I bought a laptop in 2012 with i7 processor and 8gb RAM. around 2016 I had issue with laptop that it became very very slow and hangs all the time. what os was that laptop running?
All my pcs on KSky Internet Sec AV since 15+ years. Androids were too for a few years but then I forgot to renew for Androids. But for pcs, no compromise.
I have avg free
I always use Eset Internet Security
Even I use an anti-virus software (have bad memories from XP days) however I use free antivirus software (Kaspersky Free). It works pretty well.
I have bought this Laptop in August 2022.
ASUS Vivobook 15, 15.6-inch (39.62 cms) FHD, AMD Ryzen 7 3700U, Thin and Light Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/Integrated Graphics/Windows 11/Office 2021/Silver/1.8 kg), M515DA-BQ722WS https://amzn.eu/d/c...JJ
And my free 1 Year McAfee is about to end. Shall I install Windows Defender or Bit Defender or Kaspersky or Eset or AVG ?

If you dont install unknown softwares and don't visit shady sites, Windows defender is enough
