Does Paytm collect details of all your contacts / call records in the phone when logging in?

I have to install paytm app, to initiate the account deactivation request from inside the app.

When trying to login, they request access to make calls, to confirm mobile number, which sounds reasonable.

Do you know if they can also collect / poll all your contacts / previous call history in the phone when logging into their app?

no they don’t because it’s a popular app so experts would have checked the decompiled code already.
Google play store and android has stringent guidelines and security checks to safeguard user privacy. for eg to access contacts app code should add android.permission.READ_CONTACTS which prompts user for permission before install

Have you got paytm app installed on your phone?

If yes, could you please check if paytm’s app permission to contacts is ON / OFF on the app permission list? Thanks

Contact permission is set to Deny. App works fine w/o that permission.
