Cheapest:
Buy CCCAM set top box. I personally Like gtmedia gtc. Approx 3600-4000. You get 2 year cccam. Give internet to set top box. Daily uses wont be much. Approx 9-10 mb per day only.
Downside: 1. Small cuts like 1 sec in 1 minute
2. Only SD channel, no hd. But all SD channel available.

Its perfect cheap solution for singles. But not good for family due to occasional cuts.

After that, per year cccam at approx 175-200.

DTH – u can temp deactivate for max 90 days and can resume easily online which is really saver when u travel outside…local cable – difficult and need to chase them…cable works when it rains better to go cable where rains frequently..cable – they will provide local channels for free (mostly)

tata sky offering 1400 rs for new HD connection , as well as airtel digital tv offering 1300 rs for new hd connection , tata now all dth operators has same plans minmum recharge value for all dth operatpr is 153 for only free to air channels .

There was one cablewala in my area and they were great ppl and service. But after trai taxes happened, the charges became outrageous, b4 was paying 300 for all the channels but after that for 300 only 30 odd channels were available and extra charges for sony, star, etc, not to mention foreign shows channels like zee zindagi, utv world movie and another were cancelled permanently. So cost would go around 600 including weird taxes.
Got airtel dth bcz they were offering the lowest price and was happy with their service for a year.
But this year they had started charging too much!
Fed up with this nonsense.

I was using Airtel for 11 years, now they only give little data. I went for Tata sky broadband with free landline unlimited plan @ 25 mbps @ 5500 for 7 months (6+1 free) ie 790 per month. And installed thop tv, watching all tv channels in good to hd quality. They are also giving 300 referral bonus to New customers if they join via existing customer. So anybody want my referral can message me for additional 300 benifit.

Please don’t take connection from DEN. Worst experience ever. Their support is pathetic. No one cares about your problem. I have 2 set top boxes from them. Both are useless so I am just using jio with my tv and watching live tv on zee5.

I think for most ppl DTH or Cable does not make sense. Nowadays OTT is gaining power. I suggest one to go for free to air DTH (popularly know as DD dish) with one time expense of 1200-2000₹. Then you can subscribe to Amazon Prime, Disney Hotstar, etc…that will be very cost effective. 

You can also explore HD Antenna but channels offered are very less in India unlike US and UK. But if more and more PPL use HD anttena then many channels May opt for it. DTT tecnology.

Install oreotv in Android tv or Android box. Watch tv channels and movies and more in hd and fhd

Dont go with any local cables as you can not switch channels or stop start anytime. Dishtv and tatasky both have feature to add or delete channels of packs any time with only limitattion of 30 days if u add any new channel or pack. Along with it you can get benefits from from dishtv and tatasky of recharging 6 months/12/24 months, you willl get extra months. Along with it , you can get extra benefits from payzapp or any other wallets like payzapp offer on tatasky 15% cashback max 75 everymonth. You can also go with jio cable where you will get fibre internet + fibre jio tv with all channels, but here you have to give more almost 1000 or 1500 per month which will give you 500 gb or 1000 gb internet.

my concern is the remote user friendlyiness for elderly , my grandparent just want to switch on and then change cahnnel with single click .. which is only possible if channels are preset on 1-9 numbers of remote .currently local cable have it for SD cahnnels but i want to let them watch HD

Quality is very Good, but you must have good broadband connection(I am using 100Mbps fibre connection)

Buy fire TV stick ( if you don’t have smart tv or non android tv)in this amazon prime sale for around 2k (3.5k regular mrp) and install thop tv or Oreo tv on your fire TV stick , trust me guys you will forget dish or cable , in Oreo tv app itself I have almost all the HD + SD.
All sports channel + all series + all new movies releaed on diffrnt platforms !! I had Airtel DTH which is not used from last October after I brought this fire tv stick !
