Starlinks are in lower earth orbit. Plus your mobile connection keeps on working when it’s cloudy, right?

check this https://vividcomm.com/2020/09/06/starlink-rain-... and I will let you rephrase the question after that

Edit: I suppose you mean satellite phones in the later part of your comment. Mobile phones do not connect to satellite unless it is for GPS.

Bro as of now Starlink is in LEO and the clouds are not making any difference. People are getting 100mbps+ speeds in Wyoming under heavy snowfall. Coming to your gps part, Starlink might launch satellites in the space too if there’s any connection issue. There might be connection issues initially in some parts but in the long run it will become the biggest isp.
P.S. for those who are interested the DoD is watching everyone on Starlink just like NSA is watching everyone on the internet.

I do agree that it may be a hit in the long run after they launch more satellites. We will need to wait and watch once it begins the operations here, also as a few mentioned, it is mostly confined to remote areas.

Because Musk is targetting remote areas as of now which are the most difficult. My friend installed it in a major city in NA few weeks back and as per him its great. His city is under snowfall nowadays.

This is wireless connection. How can it compare with wired broadband connections in terms of throughput/ latency? That’s the major concern, not speed.
