Fake Mobile with Original bill

Similar scam reported recently where someone sold mobile under flipkart smart upgrade plan via Amazon, and user got locked from their phone for not paying EMI.

For better solution and reach, requesting @MJ911 or any other admin to move this to dost and dimes section. Also OP you can post it under D&D so that more people can reach out with any suggestion or solution

This incident is totally offline. A shopkeeper sold a cheap and fake item on branded/original rate with bill.
Fake or copy items are not new concept but with Bill ?

I believe the shopkeeper provided Original Phone and Original Bill to the customer. This customer might have bought a fake mobile from somewhere else and he sold that phone to your friend with the original bill he got from shopkeeper.

Only possibility that shopkeeper may have done fraud is If the IMEI number in the phone matches with the bill.

How your friend got to know the customer? vai Olx??

Your friend should understand What is the meaning of taking bill from seller? If he is buying 16k phone for 5k, them it must be old or fake.

If he is purchasing old phone then no value of bill except to check that phone is not steal / fake from others. It can be checked only by comparing IMEI no.

If IMEI no is not matching and he is buying phone then this incident bound to happen

ese bahut se phone delhi me milte h or sb ke sb chori ke ,

recently my oneplus 9 has stolen.seems like shopkeepers doing fraud like this

I once sold my old sony via olx,. But in my case i told upfront that it has signal issue..so he gave me 6k while i asked for 8k… Dhoka ni karna chahiy, bta ke do, lena hoga toh lega saamne wala..

this is not a headache of the shopkeeper now
if you have his photo and cctv footage then u can go to the police only if u have influential contacts. did u check the phone under the same cctv camera later?
he gave u voter id xerox copy as proof?is he answering your phone now?

Taken photo of the voter id but it seems fake.
Not answering the calls now but number is working.

if you have his photo and cctv footage then u can go to the police only if u have influential contacts. did u check the phone under the same cctv camera later?

It is a ordinary salon so cctv is not available. Need to check in the nearby. His Photo took in Mobile. Sharing his photo if anybody knows him.
Voter card is tempered.

Bro u can easily search voter card using the id online in national voter portal.

Tried it, some characters are not clear and barcode is tempered. Barcode scanner detecting a invalid I’d.

Ypu can’t do anything except lodge an FIR.Next time tell your friend to buy second hand phone from his known shop only.
