I purchased a washing machine from Flipkart during sale period.
The machine box was very old and mfg date was from Oct 2020. In addition, the built quality of the machine was really bad.

On the very same day, I raised a return request, but not flipkart is saying that item has been delivered successfully, we cannot help.

Tweeted them— only generic response received like— we are looking into the issue
Raised return request thrice— all 3 times seller cancelled the return request citing item has been delivered
Spoke with customer support team— They keep raising incidents which get auto closed citing item has been delivered

I understand that large appliance items cannot be returned but that does not mean you deliberately dump old stock to the customer and then do not provide any support.

Question itself seems from 2015 or thereabouts.
They have been ‘worse’ for a while already.

Jiomart and Flipkart shunt the calls to the private phone numbers of the third party (Daksh IBM, Intelenet BPO) callcentre associates.
And if listening to weird caller tunes wasn’t enough pain, at times 😁family members of the alleged associates picked up calls 😆to inform that the person is bathing or in the toilet!

better to reach out to the L3 or L4 position agents.

But even here, in peak season (and maybe even otherwise) freshers or barely 30-40 days old staff are tasked to pose as ‘escalations’.

So might have to (depending on the adaptability and vulnerability of the CSA) ask for the contact to be transferred to the team leader/ reporting manager.
(Yes, fresher or newbie escalation agents DO and can request their lead to call you back instead).

@rocker123 bhai, your case is ‘weak’ at best.
Thus, in-case escalations people call ( + 9180 or at times +9140 ) then try to be composed and calm,
in rather explaining product defects or performance issues.

You are not (the typical) high handed Delhi-ite, I know
but just in case, a heads-up.

Receiving an old product that ‘looks’ inferior… is not something THAT concrete.
If by chance the previous agents have not annotated it in such words,
then to the escalations’ team lead/newbie… you can directly change track
that there are strange vibrations and the PCB/ display gets shut down mid cycle.
(Something vague enough for which they cannot ask for pictures).

The customer care is shit from quite some time (atleast an year or two). I choose flipkart if there are no other options. I prefer amazon even if the price is higher by 3-400, I feel it is worth than pressurizing myself.

I’m not sure if pgportal can help with this kind of issues, but give it a try to see if there is any related topic where you can raise a complaint.

I’m curious on which product it is, can you please share link here.

I don’t think large appliances come under return policy, you can ask for a replacement unit though

They do.
But everything is subjective.
And for a promoter driven/ lalaji type poop business like theirs
since there are no systems whatsoever… everythingnus fluid.

They have even picked up innerwear.
And L3 agents (escalations) often point blank throw the primary champs under the bus.
By blaming the frobtline agents for not creating xyz return or such.

Agents can and do even cancel previous replacement requests
and once such replacement ID is closed/ recalled
Agents do create the pure return “case ID”.

Not personally done for washing machines,
but happened for just high priced home theatre/ sound system.

The situation has been the same for a while.
No return/replacement for large appliances unless there’s physical damage due to transportation
& Now that they’ve covered transit damages via open box delivery, they started rejecting the return/replacement requests ( Previously they used to delay it )

If not try to return with a valid reason like parts of the product is damaged but make sure that during installation engineer will check details

this where an acquaintance with delivery guys proves useful bcoz they can report a product as damaged at the time of open box delivery and customer can get replacement easily.

but this trick can be done without much hassle in tier-2 tier-3 towns bcoz delivery guys personally know most of the regular online shoppers.

but in city area this can be difficult.

I bought realme active 2 buds from flipkart and got defective one.. since one ear bud was not working.. complaint kust after receiving.. they told i need to visit service center to replace as they don’t provide replacement on defective items for few companies..
Got highly disappointed to hear this.. as hav to go service center within 2-3 days(since they told to visit in 7 days of invoice)…
This incident made me bit cautious while doing online shopping.. since they are changing policies a lot

Flipkart should overhaul its management ( which they should have done at the time of takeover by Walmart ) to match the customer care standards of amazon.

Accounts getting suspended without seeking explanation, Product return requests getting denied, Exchange offers getting withdrawn at the time of delivery, and all the other unpleasant experiences that gets shared on this forum shows that the current management has no integrity or character.

The company has been bought over by Walmart, but their Customer care approach still continues to be the same pre-acquisition myopic attitude of treating every Indian customer as possible thieves and frauds.

We need businesses that knows how to treat their customers with dignity and appreciate their purchases.

Pleased to announce that my issue finally got resolved, and my return reject was approved and washing machine was picked up.
Thank you all for guiding me on this issue.

Lesson learnt- Do not buy any large appliance from Flipkart

I had all these extreme bad experiences of customer service from aliexprees back 4-5 years back.
They only have bot to talk to you which didn’t understand any shit. At that time flipkart and amazon had goldegolden days in india.
While amazon is best in CS, flipkart atleast had real people to talk to and return/replacement wad elastic.

But now they’ve aliexpress way of treating customer that " it’s all about discount and deal aand not customer service or experience "
You can’t talk to real person flipkart and their majority of return/replacement policy is shitty while same can be said about amazon but atleast you can talk and reach to real person with ease.

Nothing could beat the offline easy experience of return/replacement when something goes bonkers.
At least you can held that seller by their collar which you can’t do with amazon/flipkart

Good to know that at-least your case got sorted somewhat. Although I failed to get what the “1000 UPI from logistics” meant.
[Wondering how much was turnaround time. (From contacting cs-head/ escalations ..till the resolution). Since they are in midst of peak sale season].

I had placed an order from FK yesterday around 8:30 PM and used few gvs and slice card for payment.
My order status still shows it’s pending – Payment not yet confirmed from the bank but i’ve already received a msg/email from slice with their confirmation.
Price of the product has already increased by 500 bucks now…They aren’t properly responding to me on call…Who will bear the brunt now? They say my order amt is refunded god knows what’s happening in there…

Can anyone help me with any lead who will address my issue immediately from their end? Totally frustrated now…
