Flipkart Fridge Exchange Issue- Loss of 5k

I ordered Haier fridge yesterday with exchange offer of 5k for the old fridge. Today, the delivery executive came for delivery and when I informed him about exchange, he was really surprised, like he was not aware of it. Still, he checked the old fridge and didn't find any issues as we had specifically not emptied fridge to show it was in working condition but that executive's attitude was indifferent and I knew he would create issues.
He called up his senior who immediately asked him to reject the exchange and to take extra 5k (Exchange Bonus). I spoke to that senior as well as the delivery agent but they were not willing to budge. In fact, that senior idiot (dont know whether he was dumb or trying to fool me) told me over phone that I have to pay 5k cash to them irrespective of exchange- he wanted old fridge as well as 5k. I was really pissed and shouted at him but no go.
Called up FK customer care who told me to not give a penny to them but the delivery agents were adamant for money and they were willing to take back the fridge but it was urgently needed and also had got it at good offer, so I paid 5k and cancelled exchange. I complained to FK to take action against this delivery agency but still am so so angry!

Anything we can do, to teach these idiots a lesson?
Planning to exchange phone and worried about them rejecting it as apparently they rejected phone of my relative for not having new charger!
If you don't give 500-1500 to guy they will anyway reject it.
Rejection of exchange items is a big issue on Flipkart. I don't think we can do anything about it.
It will be a profit for delivery agent and his senior, that they demanded OP in celebration of new fridge 🤐
Raise the issue everywhere you can, so that something better will happen in future.
Flipkart exchange is a scam , ignore it ... avoid it .
Amazon exchange is also getting buggy .

I would rather burn my stuff to ashes than give it up for exchange as the exchange value will never be worth the trouble, be it Amazon or Flipkart.

Now, coming to what you can do now.. yes, make the complaining super hard from cc to Twitter to consumer court to make them pay for their lapses and such a horrible experience. In an ideal condition, one would choose to cancel the delivery and live with peace.. but I can see the urgency and offer that could made you change the mind.
Now the only option left is to chase for the compensation/ refund for the hassle you've gone through and let be settled with what they offer upfront, and I know they will at one point.
Pls pls pls try to refrain from bribing the delivery guy by all means in such cases for the immediate relief for saving some bucks that may bring catastrophic results for other genuine cases as well. A sincere request to all!
2021 : i got 8500 for old fridge with rust and other issues(bump up offer 5-6k extra)

Mine is also Tier 2 town and he had come from neighboring town. I offered him 2k but they were very adamant. In fact, they did not even bring the new fridge inside and were waiting at gate for nearly an hour till we paid.
You should have rejected delivery straight away. The pain of taking back product to their warehouse would have made great lesson for them. Giving 5k extra cash was mistake.
My experience with Croma was superb. They came and delivered the fridge and said we know it takes time to install and start cooling so by default exchange pickup was arranged for next day.
It is not a matter of 2k or 5k but customer experience matters sometimes.
Similar thing happened with me while exchanging my washing machine.
I just made sure they carried the new washing machine on second floor then rejected to take the delivery. The least inconvenience I could can cause them that day.
I have the same experience with Samsung washing machine they really fucked my mind , then after that I don't rely on exchange offer as it could again give some alternative rejection reason so I simply take credit card offer and sell such thing to local people or shop with 1k-2k difference and in some case I got more than the exchange value provided by the website
I Also Got Same Experience... But We Are Not In Hurry So I Simply Rejected Them And Asked To Cancel Delivery... After Few Min They Silently Exchanged And Put New Fridge In Home With Out Seeing Our Faces...
Exchanged Value Discount :: 5600/- They Took Photos And In Their App Noted Fully Working conditions With Out Scratches... In Return He Told There Is Compressor problem And Asked 4000Rs In Money so I Rejected.
@cashif if you would have done same, there were higher chances they would have exchanged. The cost of taking the product back is also high and they should give explanation to flipkart.
Buddy there are countless horror stories that one must never buy expensive items from Flipkart, still people keep on buying. Please avoid Flipkart
instead of exchanging with flipkart , try to sell in Local Market you will always get better deal
If your fridge is working then you should have cancelled the whole purchase. Unless you got the new fridge in 40-60% off
"we had specifically not emptied fridge to show it was in working condition" isnt one of the reason listed on the Flipkart exchange conditions that it should be emptied and clean when pick up is done.
These delivery boys are not so well paid and they keep looking for an opportunity to make an extra buck. It's an enormous task in India to maintain discipline in delivery and logistics services without paying them well. Flipkart is unable to handle the delivery staff well and customers should always be prepared for worst eventualities while purchasing high value items from Flipkart, which are generally available at a slightly higher discount than Amazon.
We have to live with this reality which is a part of our indigenous culture, Flipkart/Amazon may not be able to do much about it, unless a highly paid delivery personnel model is worked out.
But why did you accept the delivery of the new fridge when the delivery boy reluctant to accept your old fridge as a exchange.
I have also ordered refrigerator by exchange method in flipkart, delivery on Saturday. keeping fingers crossed 😵 .

I once ordered an AC and the delivery guy said to pay extra to deliver to 2nd floor. I told it's a doorstep delivery, and he can take back the AC if he can't bring it to 2nd floor. After 5 mins he brought the AC without any issues, and I gave him 100rs as tip.
Do not succumb to the situation, if big product is rejected at doorstep it brings more losses to the company and the delivery guy has to be answerable. Though I never had experience of exchanging big product as I do not find fair value.
I ordered fridge from flipkart in January with exchange. Was getting 15k for my old side by side. Delivery agent reduced value to some 2-3 k to the least minimum flipkart app was showing. Agent entered the dent in app and it was there. I refused the delivery.
Ordered from Amazon 2 days back and same fridge was exchanged easily for 15k, delivery guy was cool with it. Paid ₹200 tip.Got a better deal than flipkart. All my white good exchange is going to Amazon next time.

The only situation you would have been happy is that you should not have paid the extra 5k and just give them the option that was agreed either take the old fridge or go they would not have dared to take the new fridge they can do whatever they want in this way only you we can be happy
