I am curious weather cred and others remove cc from bill pay page also. If I need to  enter number every time to pay bill then it's big headache.

No, They dont remove it!

Whenever you add credit card they ask for the Verification as per RBI Guidelines and Credit 1Rs and then Saved your cards!

Cred is following RBI guidelines since may-june 2022

Your card number saved as token. Only your card last 4 digit will showing.

Other numbers are randomly generated.

As per RBI guidelines, the saved details of the non-tokenized cards need to be purged by 1st October 2022 from the merchants and PG/PA systems. The Credit & Debit card details should be tokenized by the issuing bank or the network (Rupay, Visa, Mastercard) if the user chooses to save their card details with the merchants.

So, if we store our same cards in multiple accounts of same merchant's portal through Tokenization, will the merchant's AI System be able to track and flag them this time?

Nopes, now after 1st October, you can use your card on multiple accounts of same merchant. Merchants can't track your card.

That may be checked from Bank's end. So, nothing will change for offers. But Merchant may not be able to differentiate by themselves singlehandedly. Hence, atleast those cases of Accounts Block on Merchant Platform may be less often due to same card being used in too many accounts.

Yes. Banks give option through net banking, mobile banking, phone banking, IVR, branches etc to delete our tokenized card.

Note - I am telling, what RBI circular said, baki reality me bank walo ne kitna yeh sab kiya hai. woh toh check krna parega. 😀

I think your card tokenized. Others can't able to see your card info. They see token number. Your card number is visible only too you. This is my assumption.

But ye to pehle jesa hi hua. Nothing more secure. I think banks are yet to upgrade their apps for this feature.

Earlier our card details visible to merchants. Now they see only token number. So nobody else able to see your card details.

Let's see how it works in coming days.

What's the benefits of tokenization from customer point of view?

We were getting daily news of sites data breaches and hackers were getting access of large number of cards..

But after tokenization,
Now the merchants were not able to store your card.. instead they will store a token for the card.. which means if data got leaked.. the token will be exposed to hacker not card...

These tokens are strongly tied up with the merchant you generated it.. which means if some got your token of your card, they can only use that token to the site for whom you generated it..

For eg: if amazon data leaked and hacker got your token.. the hacker can only perform transaction on amazon only. Other transaction won't be allowed with that token..

Also, in this case you can easily delete you token from bank.. that i want to delete token of amazon.. and your other tokens and card will remain unaffected..
