Fraudulent transaction attempted in my SBI a/c WITH FRAUD CHEQUE...pls help

yesterday(i.e.,05/07/2018) at 12.45 pm a fraudulent transaction amounting Rs.2905 had been attempted on my a/c with Chq No 0000194872.I came to know about this when STATE BANK OF INDIA sent a Chq Dishonoured sms on my registered Mobile no at 12.45 pm. This Chq No does not belong to my a/c or anywhere associated with my a/c.The transaction not happened because there was insufficent fund.CONTACTED THE BRANCH MANAGER AND SHOWED HIM THE MESSAGE ALSO TRIED TO GIVE HIM AN APPLICATION BUT HE DENIED TO TAKE MY APPLICATION AS HE THINKS THAT MERE SMS ON MY REGISTERED MOBILE NO IS NOT A “GROUND” TO TAKE THE APPLICATION…Now I am very much worried as it is my SALARY A/C…PLS HELP DIMERS I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW…THANKS IN ADVANCE

Does sms have any link? If yes it might be scam message asking you to change login id and password.

Visit branch again which your cheque book. Request them how many cheque are left in system allocated to your account and do reconicilation. If there is any cheque which is not in your possession & issued without your knowledge, submit a stop payment request for those cheque number. If entire cheque book is issued without your knowledge file a complain online or call centre.

who sent the sms?

The cheque no. you mension above is availabe in Your Cheque book or In same series cheque no.

If our cheque is dishonoured then bank will charge an amount from our account. Check for that

I NEVER USED A SINGLE CHEQUE FROM THE DATE OF CREATION OF MY A/C….AND no link at all….it came from State Bank of India (IM-CBSSBI)

Till now no dishonour charge has been debited from my a/c…

its not a fake sms..the bank itself admitted that it has been sent by their department

i think you have to wait for the charges to be debited.
There after go to bank

the bank manager is saying today that it may be their staff’s mistake that he by mistake put my a/c no instead of someone in cheque clearance process…That’s why I received the message….but i doubt

He may be correct. Just keep your cheque book safe and mail them regarding this issue,for your records.

f*cking sue them , there mistake for mental harassemnt
