FRC price
What is the FRC, first recharge, amount price if we are porting a number to Jio? Got a call from their office he said it’s 450 and the plan will get prime membership+1gb data per day for 24 days. 400 or 500 minutes, don’t recall. Prime+this plan costs 99+149 otherwise. Is first recharge really this expensive? Can’t we do it ourselves? Anyone knows the price for the FRC for other operators? If we port and if we buy a new sim, that means a FRC correct?

Nahi bhai bas 1 sim ko jio mein convert karvana tha taki incoming ke liye pack na activate karvana pade har mahine.
FRC price of vodafone idea is 350 as per their store here. Why haven’t they mentioned anything about the frc charges on their site. I think the stores are charging as much as they like

Before portout, just make a simple query about recharge prices with 2-3 retailers. We can always negotiate with our nearby retailers about FRC discount. I did an Airtel FRC of 647 recently. Ported out from Jio. Paid only 610₹. Retailer gives discount based on customer relation. I did not even pay anything for sim. Ask around with retailers in your locality. I think they get something extra for customer acquisition. Jis se new sim liya usi se poocho price.
If porting to jio you have to take any of plan plus their prime membership that’s what frc is. you can see the same in amazon or any other app.
Min plan available for this in jio is ₹149 (they don’t have plans like ₹49 in airtel or vi) plus membership will cost ₹99 for a year.(Don’t think 129 plan works for this)
So 99+149=₹249 that’s the amount you have to spend to get the sim not a penny more.
Now you can do this first recharge via retailer or can take free sim from Jio store and do this recharge yourself.
Recently i got my airtel sim ported to jio
I took 199 plan+99 prime = 298
Paid ₹269 with 10digi.com (10% discount with them)
Check if they are operating in your area you will get sim home delivered for free.
If not either go to Jio store or any other retailer and ₹249 is max you should pay them to get the sim with 149 plan.

The local office/guy is a looter here, he’s asking for double the price and if we don’t pay that amount as FRC he will not handover us the sim. Any help with that?
What I am thinking is to generate a porting code and once he asks for that amount, will complain to Jio with that port number. What say?
Will recharge with 49 as suggested by you in some other thread and will get that porting code.

There is no fixed amount bro. They ll peddle you Disney hotstar subscription. But there are many plans and upon requesting you ll get a suitable one. 99₹ extra is mandatory I believe

I don’t have much idea about FRC recharge. Also, please don’t make any decision just because their agent lured you with some offer (later on you may suffer).
