Thank you for using Freo Pay. We would like to inform you that from August 1, 2022, a convenience fee of 1% of the value of the transaction + GST of 18% shall be levied on each transaction. This shall be payable at the time of repayment of dues.
Note: This fee will not apply to any transactions made in July 2022.
We believe this fee will help us build a better product that’s more usable and useful. We thank you for being part of our journey so far, and we look forward to always being your go-to shop now, pay later app.
Thank you,

How to close Freo pay?
rockylucifer wrote:Good question.... Very good question...How to close Freo pay?
Freo Pay has gone nuts. First they introduced convenience fee for repaying dues via wallet which was kind of fine but what they've introduced now is seriously weird.
I used Freo Pay only for the simplicity of repaying at once and not clutter my bank account statement with miniature amount transactions done via UPI. With Rs. 1,500 limit in my case, they were solving a tiny problem in my life and now they want to impose charges on transactions too.
Freo Pay has met a very early death. I don't see anyone staying with them after this decision.
When will lazy pay plus UPI launch?
Is there technique to do small payments using credit upi?

They won't close your account if you simply uninstall the app. It took me about 3 months of follow up to get the required NOC.

I've sent them an email 2-3 days ago, shall I keep following up with them at regular intervals until they reply?
Yes. Keep emailing them regularly till they close it. It's very easy to open these type of accounts and exceptionally tough to close them. Anyway always close them properly because you never know if they will bring some new charges like 'annual fees' 'account maintenance charges' etc and if you don't pay back those then you will be reported to credit rating agencies.
