Getting calls from international number claiming to be "Fedex"

Hi ,
From the past 2-3 months, getting calls from "+91969672405" and other numbers with same country code. Earlier i thought its an indian number but realized it later, and that made me suspicious as usually scammers use such tricks.
A computer speaks at other end and says that my Fedex parcel couldnt be delivered and asks to press "1" on keypad for some action.
I dont think i have any courier coming from Fedex or anything related to it. So, its probably some kind of spam / scam.
But what could be the purpose of such calls ?
Anyone else also getting similar calls ? The timings vary throughout the day but calls are received in business hours only.
Thanks for any inputs .

Yes, some countries have smaller or longer phone numbers bro.
But I have a habit of only checking first digits, and 91 gave an impression that its indian number, realized it later.
Yeah, these automated calls with options to press have become quite frequent lately. SBI credit card scammers prefer to call me manually most of the time though. 😃
Caller ID can be spoofed if call is made using VOIP apps. Any number can be used to display as the caller ID.
They may ask to share OTP during the IVR call, if you proceed with the instructions. The OTP may be for some prepaid account service.
Anybody tried by pressing 1, what happens next? No harm in pressing 1 on IVR.

Compared to the latest high tech IVR based frauds, this appears to be an old technique of fraudulently extorting money from ordinary un-informed people. The phone call was a VOIP call made by using a spoofed caller ID, so that the real caller can never be detected.
So many new scams coming
Better to keep minimal amt in banks acct enabled for online trxn
FedEx Agents calls directly, I don't remember if I ever received FedEx IVR call.
