100% Storage geyser. V guard, jaguar, Ao smith, bajaj or any other famous brand

Instant geyser can only serve small requirements like water for kitchen or 2-3 litre water for mopping or stuff like that. For bathing requirements for 4 people, you’ll definitely require a Storage Geyser. 25 litre capacity should work fine for 4 people unless you live in colder/snowy regions. Racold is one of the best brands in geysers, I have a Racold geyser going strong for the last 25 years. Other than Racold, you can go with AO Smith, Havells. Would suggest not to go with Bajaj due to my personal experience with the brand.

100% instant geyser, family of 4 would require a small geyser, again the assumption is the usage would be just for bathing

For a family of 4 better go for 25 ltr Storage Electric water heater Racold or AO Smith.

If you have a limited budget and your bathroom space is big as well as well ventilated then go for Gas Geyser for which you can do LPG piping from a professional and keep the LPG tank outside the bathroom.

If you’re open to alternative types and have a rooftop available, would suggest to go with Solar Geyser. You will have to retrofit your bathrooms to install additional taps and spend almost 20-25k for the geyser but it’ll be a one time expenditure and you can enjoy hot water for the next 10-15 years at nearly 0 cost and contribute to save the environment as well.

Risky

There is no Risk…
Waise life itself is risky does not mean we stop using stuffs..(phones can explode, electricity short circuit can bring your house done and what not. )😂

Gas geyser generate CO2..Lack of ventilation in bathroom can cause issues…(hence mentioned requirement of ventilation in my post)..branded once are BIS and ISI approved .

Depends upon your location also. If you are in North India, with temperatures going below 5C, even 25L storage one may not be enough. But for South India, 10L Storage should be adequate.

second that, on Racold.
ditto. decades of use and core products are VERY safe.
not aware of the new gen gas based technologies though
personally i would shun fake brands like, jazzy names like AO Richards or companies that simply import copied stuff or resell dead tech (Bajaj). Crompton Greaves or Spherehot type local names too are trusty.
instant or barely 2-3 litre storage type have limited application, as posted and pointed out by others above.

Having said that, it did suffice for a family of 2.5 or 3 in a large city/ metro (humid and close to the sea) to use just a pass through (300grams max storage) boiler for average daily use even in the main bath.

but in colder chimes or ones where power supply issues exist, for any larger family, the extra amount spent on a 15-20litre unit …still is money well spent (in my view).

Better condult the interiors person and a knowledgable plumbing agency or plumber.
Racold does have compact units too for tight spaces, but final look or design is better decided by the end users.

Just invest in solar for water. A 200 litre one will suffice all your family needs easily and will save you money in the long run.
And have a Racold storage geyser for those odd cloudy days when only 1 or 2 people will get hot water.
