Why you took this card at first place should be the question?

You can say them you wish to close the card due rewards which are not relevant to you.

Update: The retention offer was either 7,500 reward points while keeping the Select Card, or cancelling the Select Card and getting a LTF MyZone card. I opted for the latter. They say it will take 16 working days to process and I got an SMS with a service request number.

Make sure you do not make any further transaction on the select card/utilize any of the card offers after the date on which the annual charge was added to your card.

They have one of the worst customer services, specially the retention team would go to any level to make sure that you continue to pay them the annual charges.

When my card was up for renewal last year, I accidentally made some transaction and their cc lady mentioned they can go ahead and take the request for closure but won’t reverse the annual charges since I had used the card after the annual charges were levied on the account thereby consenting on the annual charges.

I had raised the reversal request the very next day after my bill was generated but they just prolonged the call from retention team & finally had to opt for the same 7500 reward points & pay the annual fee and keep the card going for 1 more year. I hate them so much for such evil tactics.

Well Axis Bank is like booby traps, one misstep and you caught up with various charges, that is why I closed my saving account with them
