Good economic cbse schools in chennai

Good (or even bad) & economical don’t go together when it comes to schools

Seriously the fees they are charging is astronomical nowadays. I don’t understand why we have to pay a lakh and above for basic school education.

Assuming a school has 40 students from grade 1 to 10, and each pays 1 lakh/year. The fees from 400 students is 4 crores.

Assume there are 30 teachers/staff etc. Even at 5 lakhs per year, the outflow is 1.5 crores for salaries. (Obviously they won’t pay so much, but still assuming they do).

Generally, rent is not applicable as they own the schools.

Misc expenses can be another 50 lakhs.

So the expenses are around 2 crores.. revenue is 4 crores..


Even if you deduct another crore for expenses.. they still earn a solid 1 crore from this school business.  That is a cool 25% profit per year.

Yes, after NPOs (non profit organisations)

non profit hospitals and schools are the most profitable ‘business’ in this part of the world.

Sadly, home schooling cultute hasn’t been popularised here.

(Although they need to manipulate the expenses for the same 😬)
