Got issue escalated to RBI and got fined imposed on ICICI Bank

Feeling elated to see RBI imposed rs 1000 fine on Icici bank , though it’s small fine which i never asked for but it’s good to see big banks getting accounted for shoddy treatment to it’s customers.
P:s: Issue was icici bank had opened SR in last july but never responded to it despite multiple reminders

had applied for Icici credit card, but since there was no response from their side after successful vkyc, neither the status was visible anywhere so had written to them, but they kept on saying we are investigating the issue for few months and they stopped responding

RBI ordered Icici bank to deposit rs 1000 fine to my account which has already been deposited
While, this is just a single case, this should make icici bank more responsible
Yes, that is the point. even if 100 people complain then the total fine would rs 1 lac and Icici would be forced to implement robust redressal mechanisms

Good Job!! We need to fight against these big companies / banks / financial institutions for such shaddy practices. You have set an example for lot of people who face such experiences but don’t complaint as they expect any action from RBI.

i have many unfulfilled queries from banks telecom and almost all sectors which pinches my mind when ever I see these brands banners or buildings

I had raised ombudsman complaint 6 years back where my standard chartered credit card was closed but the bank reported in cibil with late payment as well as write off and found this when i was applying for loan with hdfc. Ombudsman fined standard chartered with 5k and i got cheque for the same(it seems now digitalised) and my cibil was corrected to zero balance. Good to see for SR also we can complain. All these are bank’s code of conduct issue

and provide a detailed explanation with solid proofs of all written communication with the bank ( I had uploaded email PDF copies), also mention the existing service request registered with the bank with all the dates and their responses to it.
Query is “How long we need to wait before raising complaint to RBI”?
Patience is required, as here it took 2 months for RBI’s verdict but they posted after checking whether the amount was credited. so that’s good otherwise it would taken another complain to make Icici comply with the order 😄
well it depends. if you have exhausted all your options with the bank at their highest level and not satisfied with the answer then can you approach RBI with a stronger case
Ye badhiya tha.. i like it when justice comes.. ab bahut sare complain jayenge rbi ko.. and rbi will stop responding.. inki complain kidhar karni hogi 🤔
in the order itself is mentioned that this is non-appealable and if one wishes to challenge it then have to approach court
I have done this many times. Didn’t get compensation but made banks learn some lesson.
I have fd interest related issue for which I complain in 4 Jan for which I have reciving with bank stamp but till now no satisfactory reply. Can I complain or do I need to give reminder again before complaint to rbi
if you have already written to bank’s nodal officer and not satisfied with answer then you can go ahead and write to RBI
