Govt caps price of Remdesivir: Health minister Harsh Vardhan
The manufactures, marketers voluntarily reduced the MRP of Remdesivir after government intervention. This will make the drug more affordable.

Well now the chapraasi said that actions will be taken against hoarders n black marketeers.. Although I suspect that!!

1. This is not price capping by the govt. This is voluntary price reduction (by drug manufacturers)
2. Affordability is not the bigger issue right now. The issue is lack of supply and hoarding, black marketing. To tackle the latter two, govt has not taken any decisive step.
3. As they always have, govt and ministers are trying to take credit for this thing too. Infact, Cadila had already slashed the price of remdesivir to 899 three weeks ago!
