Smokeless options like those UV type light emitting tubes.. which also have the khooni electric mesh on the outside.

The type which we would often see in shops or other elstablishments, till few years back.

The light and other radiation attracts the poor insects to death by incineration.☹‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏

Although when not peak summer, socks  overall&source=lnms&tbm=isch" target=“_blank” rel="nofollow">https://google.com/search?q=workman%27s+overall... + Vicks Vaporub too is a workable alternative.‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏

(Although Vicks/ most Procter and Gamble products are prohibitively overpriced and thus unviable.

I may be ‘addicted’ to Vicks. Even any pungent oil like mustard or others might do good, I suppose).

Oddly the common neem oil is banned in England and perhaps some other places too.

Seems some chemicsls it may have or release, are likely risks for certain age groups or people suffering from some ailments.‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏

‏‏But when ‘some’ smoke is not a concern (some pets and people have reactions to smoke or high scents).

But when ‘some’ smoke is not a concern😁 then I too dip the normal incense sticks in the neem oil bottle.

Let the oil be absorbed in the charcoal or ash/whatever agarbattis are made of, and then burn them.

Dipping in water or thick oil, makes them burn longer.

Even tried normal lamp🪔 metal diya with mix fuel of groundnut oil mixed with neem oil.

It was so-so.
