U r working with any bank??
Observed the working of ICICI, Kotak and Karur Vaisya bank as an auditor. The work culture in Kotak was the best , Karur Vaisya being a small bank was very lax. The work hours may differ according to branch but the Kotak staff (in more than 10 branches that I audited) did not leave before 7 pm at the earliest and arrived at least half an hour before opening time in Delhi; however, outside Delhi in smaller cities there was not much work pressure so work hours were lax. In ICICI the work load was much higher but the operational standards were not as strict as Kotak, but the staff were normally working around an hour after closing time in 9 to 6 branches, in 8 to 8 branches the work was in two shifts and the 2nd shift staff left the branch at about 8:15. The both banks have sales target for their operational staff but the staff usually managed to meet their targets and level of pressure also depends on assigned area manager.
The pay scale of both the banks is not much different as far as I can recall with maybe Kotak being slightly higher. The branch manager drew about 60-70K per months and new recruits were paid about 30K per month. Both the banks however had high employee turnover with staff leaving for other banks or leaving banking entirely. (Two of the branch managers blaming the pressure from us auditors as the cause for their attrition)
Your choice should depend upon your interest.
Remember that Banking job is very high pressure and involves high risk if you are not willing to sacrifice some of your social life then do not go for private banks.
bro had you tried in psb’s ?
Because work pressure is more in private sector as compared to salary given.
For PSBs one have to give IBPS exam which is tough so it is not easy to get a job in psbs. Any other job option than working in bank ?? Without pressure job & good salary ?
chalo milte hain Ujjain..
if you do not have interest in the work you are doing then you feel pressure & stress. but if you have full interest then you will ask for more work & pressure will not exist. so choose the work which interests you. it can be job or own business.
For icici, u have to give test after that if u get selected for GD/PI round, they provide some diploma degree for which u have to join institute in manipal for which 1 year fee will be 4 lakh approx! And starting salary will be 30k, ur job profile will be PO.
IDBI Bank has currently advertised for PGDBF from Manipal School of banking, the cost is 3.5 lakhs+ GST for 1 year it includes lodging and fooding. Post completion the candidate will be appointed as Assistant manager with basic pay 23.7K per month. IDBI bank being a subsidiary of LIC would be better than private banks to some extent.
Banks should cut down employees as its huge loss for them to pay all these employees. Whooping amount of Salary in Banks and Post office should be lowered down, then only the banks would be able to work in an effective manner.
Have you lost your sense , go and observe workload of a officer in any PSB , Bankers are already getting very less salary as compared to CPC employees
If you’re looking for this job long-term/permanent then I’ll say stick with private banks, or if you consider PSBs then stick with SBI only. Because all the other PSBs don’t fall under central govt.‘s payscale or any state govt.’s for that matter, they run under a tremendously corrupted system call bipartite which is controlled by one of the biggest corrupt organisation called IBA; which has been duping the bank employees/retirees for nearly two decades.
Any other jobs then banking?? With good salary
Go for SBI rather than going to private banks. You have to do actual work in private banks for like 10 hours. In SBI you come at 11 am and go at 4pm. All you have to do is show a board of “link fail” or “lunch break” or say “go that counter not here”
@Alpha.Barood
ye sach hai kya?
Bro don’t come in banking sector, it is better to work for private companies rather than at private banks. Pressure is immense and your social life will get a halt.
In which bank ur working ?
First of all whats your education…expectation of nature of job ..desired salary …
Public sector banks are overloaded because they are not efficient, they have less digitalisation compared to other private banks…more paper work…involved in implementing various govt schemes…qouta based entries are also their…
What is your education? Field of expertise? Interests? Experience? Capabilities?
You are asking as if anybody can do anything anytime. People also throwing up suggestions like public banks, private banks, railway jobs, business, modelling, job in NASA, fighter pilot, surgeon, this and that as if there are so many jobs available for anybody willing to do anything. Just think and get that job.
I have done B.Sc Physics
There is also huge pressure in PSB’s. You have to achieve targets , also satisfy customers. And importantly huge workload with minimal staff in most of the branches. And now some rumors suggest that salary for PSB employees will be performance basis . Mostly in rural areas you will find minimum 10 villages ( mostly around 25/30 villages falls ) under a branch and staff will be 3/4 only. So don’t think it’s easy in PSB. But if you decide to join then be ready you will face problems for couple of months and after that you will get used to it. Importantly you have to forget social life.
Any other job options than banking??
Anyway any job options related science field or computer field ??
Many private bank like ICICI, Kotak, bandhan, axis selecting student through Manipal course ,which is 1 year PGDBF course at Manipal University costing 3-4lakh , bank also provide loan for this course and once u successfully completed the course u will be selected as bank employee with a salary of 20k+ ( if taken loan otherwise more)
Comptetion in private bank through Manipal bank is less as compared to IBPS

One more option is course conducted by NIIT on behalf of ICICI bank. They charge 1 lac and provide 3 month training then you get placed in ICICI bank at salary of 15k per month.
