जयंती का अर्थ है किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति की जयंती जो जीवित नहीं है जबकि जन्मोत्सव का अर्थ है उस व्यक्ति का जन्मदिन मनाना जो इस दुनिया में है।
अतः हनुमान जन्मोत्सव कहना अधिक श्रेष्ठ होगा।
Jayanti means the birth anniversary of someone who is not alive while Janmotsav means celebrating the birthday of a person who is in this world. Hence it would be better to say Hanuman Janmotsav.

Any credible source to verify "जयंती " is depicted for non-alive person? Btw Anjaniputra isn't a person.
Deity in any Kaal/Yuga never dies.
To be referred for further thought: Geeta/Gita Jayanti, Parshuram Jayanti
if not, it's non-reasonable/non-Essential creating differentia between jayanti and janmotsava. Yeah, it can noted that Utsava is huge word against jayanti.

The first reply post of this topic is mine where I expressed curiosity about the date for Garuda etc... (as I didn't know about) as the one for hanuman jayanti was posted and said concerned people who celebrate may know that.
I am a Hindu by birth and social/family norms but I've been "Agnostic" since I had grown some common sense and developed my own ideals / rationality / free thinking ability...
I never intend to hurt sentiments of people who are into religious things (even at home or anywhere else) and also do not let others humiliate, attack, encroach or demean me for following my own opinion...

The ‘Bada Mangal' festival is held in Lucknow on the Tuesdays in the Hindu month of Jyestha May-June) and is peculiar to Lucknow.
According to History, Begum Janab-e-Aalia, the wife of Nawab of Awadh Shuja-ud-Daulah, got the old Aliganj Hanuman temple constructed. She is said to have dreamt of Lord Hanuman, who ordered her to get a temple constructed.
On the basis of her dream, she ordered quarrying of the area she saw in her dream. The idol was found after which it was transported on the back of an elephant to the city. The elephant, however, did not step forward after a point (the place where the temple is situated). Therefore, it was decided that the temple be constructed at this place and this is the famous Aliganj temple.
The Begum named her son as Mirza Mangloo after the deity, who later came to be known as Nawab Saadat Ali Khan.
Begum Aalia started the tradition of holding a fair dedicated to Lord Hanuman on all Tuesdays of the month of Jyestha. The tradition continues till date and has grown to be a massive celebration.
Though the festival is held mainly in Lucknow, other cities are gradually beginning to observe the festival too.
Muslim participation in this event is very much visible and several Muslims regularly set up pandals that offer free food to the devotees even though the festival coincides with the holy month of Ramadan. The festival, in fact, is a celebration of cultural oneness in the city. These food pandals offer food and water to all - without any consideration for caste and class.
The festival may have started distribution of food essentially for the poor but today even the rich can be seen lining up for ‘prasad'.
Begum Janab-e-Aalia was a Hindu princess. I am really glad that she was able to do those things.
Btw there are many places where Hindu Muslim celebrate each other's festivities.

हनुमान जी ज्ञान गुण के सागर और परम योगी है।

तो इतने बड़े परमात्मा के लिए सूर्य कितना छोटा है।
जब योग में स्थित होकर हनुमान खुद ही परम तत्व के अंश हो जाते है तो खेल खेल में सूर्य को ही खा जाते है
ऐसे ही एक उदाहरण अगस्त्य ऋषि का है जब वे एक चिड़िया के कहने पर समुंद्र को पी जाते है।
कहने का तात्पर्य ये है की हर आत्मा खुद ही विशाल परमात्मा है उनका अंश हैं। इसलिए एक अज्ञानी मनुष्य जन्म पाकर मुक्ति पाए यही उसके जन्म का उद्देश्य हैं। जबकि जो मानव शरीरधारी आत्मा ज्ञानी योगी हो जाता है वो परमात्मा से जुड़कर कुछ भी कर सकता हैं।
पंच तत्त्वों से नया शरीर बना सकता है। मन की गति से कही जा सकता है। संसार की हर बातों को जान सकता है और भी बहुत कुछ।
जिस भगवान से लोग KTM बाइक और कागज के पैसे मांगते है। उनसे पूरा एक ब्रह्मांड मांगा जाय तो भी ये मांग भगवान के लिए कितना छोटा है। कम से कम मांगने की बुद्धि नही है तो लोहा को सोना बनाने वाला पारस पत्थर ही मांग लो।
लोग अज्ञान में क्या नही कर रहे है। हनुमान जी योग में स्थित हो जाए और पूरा अमेरिका हाथ पे उठाकर अंतरिक्ष में फेंक आए तो कैसा ह
