I did a few Google searches and in the DD forums but found no relevant hits. Thus, I created a new thread here.
I got an HDFC Diners Club credit card a few months ago. It has the NFC logo on it and I have Contactless Payments enabled via my HDFC Online Banking / app for up to Rs 5000 since the day I activated the card.
I have tried to tap and pay at 3 different places in Mumbai listed below over the last couple of months and it failed all 3 times -
HPCL Petrol Pump
Hamleys
Utsav Restaurant (Thane)
Dipping the same card in the chip reader worked in all 3 places. So, it appears that Diners Club is accepted by all the merchants/readers but just not via the contactless mode. In one of these places, a VISA credit card worked just fine in contactless mode.
Has anyone on DD managed to do a successful contactless payment with a Diners Club card in India? If yes when and where?

Contactless never worked for me even on several HDFC machines.

It works only for few machines... Specially hdfc and i guess paytm also

The machines where contactless has failed for me were ICICI and PineLabs ones. I shall update this thread if I magically find an outlet / POS machine that accepts contactless Diners Clu.

I have had a similar experience with Diner Club Card. Something I'm curious to know if its possible to do NFC transactions using Diner Club Card, So I've tried adding my card to GPay and Paytm. Neither of them works.

Same here. HDFC DCB tap to pay doesn't work on POS.
