I would go with piped connection. Well I don’t see much of difference between bills.
But if talking about convenience and safety pipeline is much better.

We had a similar situation later we opted for piped connection.
It’s definitely better in terms that you don’t have to worry about cylinder getting empty. No Hassel of changing and keeping it and risk of fire.
With piped you need to pay almost the same or a bit less but you had to pay extar for connection in installments for first few year over the gas bill.
In our case for igl it’s around ₹6000 and we are paying ₹500 every two month.
What’s the issue that you see & making you think about taking it??

Depends on your area I guess. In Mumbai, cylinder is cheaper than piped gas sweat_smile

Gas cylinder is always cheaper.

Piped is costlier due to below charges( based on supplier )
1. Monthly admin/reading charges
2. Monthly rent for the gas Meter
3. Upfront cost of gas meters

Piped is convenient..but costly…monthly 40-50 Rs extra

Bro safety should be put above the negligible extra cost (if any)….. Go for piped gas

Do we get subsidy in piped gas as with cylinder?

I am aware that from October 1st subsidy amount is zero, but this may change with change in international oil prices.

There’s no subsidy in piped connection. Prices are already low and bill comes around same atleast in NCR.

I heard in same places there are plastic cylinders at least. Over here for living in a tier 2 city there’s no option for a piped connection apparently and still those heavy ass solid metal cylinders are used, from time to time this thing worries the F outta me.

Yeah have seen numerous cases around me of cylinder catching fire and it creates such a horror that people almost freeze & nobody have guts to take it out or try to extinguish it. Although they don’t blast so easily but if they do it’s nothing less than a bomb & have destruction capabilities.
Over that leakage is another issue and it’s pretty common with those old cylinder valves.
