Has RBI banned ICICI from issuing RuPay cards?

Heard this first time.

Try another executive, if he repeats the same, just say, I don't want to deal with a bank which is banned by RBI, and I want to close account😂, they will come to their senses.. 

I saw few posts by @abhishek012 where people are getting Icici Visa Coral Credit replaced by Rupay recently  and their CC say these type of things..

What has RBI to do with banning Icici and Rupay? It should be NPCI. Just bluffing anything and everything.

Call again bro, last week, one person call ICICI bank - customer support executive told ICICI is discontinued RuPay debit card.

then i told him call again, 2 days ago he shared, he got physical ICICI RuPay Platinum debit card pic.

Who is Rupa? Pura likha kar bhai. Don't go personal. Else admin sir will remove.

UPDATE: As per @abhishek012 advice, I called up icici customer support and demanded to issue a Rupay debit card. I said that your customer service lied to me and that if RBI has banned you'll, then no problem but please send me an email saying that rbi has banned you.

Customer service then apologised. They then cancelled the request of visa debit card and created a new request of a Rupay debit card.

I will keep you'll updated

I got ICICI rupay platinum dc just last month. Donot approach bank or your RM, they say lot of stories..just call CC and ask. Worked for me on the very first try

did you try contacting customer care via phone?
Tell them if its not possible to issue rupay card,pls send an email saying so

If you start calling ICICI customer care for Rupay in the morning and make 100 calls, by the end of the day you will get enough material to write a script of a suspense thriller.

How long after the 5 day msg were u able to see the virtual rupay card in imobile?

ICICI only favour visa card because Visa is ICICI's core banking partner.

Sometimes you will get same reply for mastercard too.

You need to force them to issue RuPay card.

Currently, Axis bank IndianOIL credit card is LTF (mostly everyone got RuPay variant).

Didn't ask but 99% chance LTF will also carry over.

Nothing as such. its just that ICICI dont give rupay dc very easily. It takes much effort to get a RuPay dc issued from ICICI.

Just got my icici rupay debit card(current salary acc with them)just called and they politely issued current mc debit card got automatically blocked

Just received rupay plat debit card  The quality/makesmanship is so bad. ICICI really doesn't want people to enjoy the rupay experience
