HDFC Annual Debit Card Charges - Is Reversal Possible?

I was checking bank statement today and found that hdfc has deducted 590 Annual Debit Card charges on Jan 17. This the first time this charge has been deducted since 2005 that I have had this account. This is a regular saving account with 10k min balance. The debit card is blue Easy Shop.
Any way to reverse this charge or reduce this fee? 590 is a lot of money

It has never been deducted before. I’m 100% sure about this.

It got deducted for me too so i converted mine to hdfc max savings account which comes with life time free platinum debit card with 1 percent cash back and two airport lounges per quarter but u need to maintain 25 k and u get unlimited cash withdrawals from any atm no charges
25k is a lot. Would want to reduce even 10k if possible
Same happened but it was new account so issuance fees of 590 was levied, complaint on Twitter, Next day phone came, you can keep that card and 500 will be reversed

Where all I will face issues if I cancel my debit card?
I hope UPI/NEFT and other stuffs work. I don’t want DC for cash/online txns.
I am not sure but debit card is must to setup/change upi pin. Maybe some banks allow upi on disabled debit card accounts but not sure. @abhishek012 may know more. NEFT/IMPS/RTGS are independent of debit card.

had opened account in July 2019 and was charged 590 the RM that time had told will get it reversed but even after visiting him at the branch he flatly refused to reverse it 
so is the reversal possible now 
July is long gone. I’m doubtful they will reverse but you can tell them that your RM had confirmed he will get it reversed so you forgot after his commitment. You recently checked Bank statement and found no reversal that’s why you are calling…

I was charged 590 when I opened account last year which was reversed after visiting branch.
Which is the most basic Master/Visa debit card available in HDFC as I don’t want to haggle every year with executive over debit card fees.
@andhraabbayi this guy gave mouthful dose to customer care and they reversed charges within 24hrs.

It must be getting deducted earlier also. Reversal not possible. 500 plus GST is minimum for any Visa/MC HDFC DC if you have regular savings account. Get Rupay DC if you want lower charges.
