I visited HDFC bank branch to open classic savings account. I have been recommended a savings max account with an AMB of 25K. However, a bank employee is also insisting that I open a 3-in-1 savings+demat+trading account since portfolio maintenance charges for demat account are “FREE” for the first year and I can close it before the end of the first year. I have a few queries. Please advise.
1. Should I open a demat+trading account even though I have no use for it ? Are there any hidden charges? How easy or difficult is it to close the demat+trading account? What’s the catch?
2. Is there any difference between easyshop classic platinum and easyshop platinum debit card? Which one should I opt for? Are there any card issuance charges for hdfc platinum or millenia debit card on opening a savings max account?
3. How can I verify from my end as an account holder that the account is upgraded to classic?

check if they have charges if account is closed within one year
Ask for 10% of his annual incentive before you take a bite on his sales target.
