So I have received a classic account upgrade message from HDFC. Is this a zero balance account? Do they charge for non maintenance of 1L per month and downgrade it?

no they don’t charge anything on non maintenance of 1L , in worst case they just downgrade it but very less chance of happening that

Nope, they dont charge. Have been classic member for 5+ years and in few months, have had average balance of less than 2k. No charge neither downgrade for me.

Yes, it has prime/prestige/Burgandy with similar requirements for normal savings account.

If u have salary account with axis, it depends on salary credit amount 25k for prime, 1L for priority and 3L for Burgandy. And no need to maintain any balance with salary account.
