While paying Advanced Tax at Income Tax portal, 10,000 rupees in final page, receiving OTP for 10k transaction, but in credit card statement, HDFC billed 10100.30 rupees (1% extra). Merchant name - CBDT. Is it legal?

You can check the payment gateway charges on the payment page. Also as far as i remember, Canara bank gateway was charging lowest charges 0.46%

This is what happens when you dont read.
Website clearly mentions payment gateway charges ..it's just like IRCTC. Settlement amount is after adding gateway charges.
